Are Stash Tabs Pay To Win ? Science
All I want to know is -
Where the fuck are all my alchemy (etc) orbs if they are guaranteed from having a lot of stash tabs? “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

guys I have one request:
before responding to me here, please make sure to read my previous posts or at least try to. understand them, before agreeing or disagreeing. I think I explained my position there well enough, and I'm not going to repeat myself, just because someone like @Fruz didn't read, then just goes ahead and comments on a sarcastic remark I made with "your argument is weak", then proceeds to try and hit me with the "I have experience" hammer, while we both know he doesn't have more of it than I do. maybe that's too much to ask in the PoE forum, though. but in case you actually respect my request, this is also directed at guys with serious responses like @Moonlight, and not just ones trying to off-topic the thread or troll me in for another probation. please read the posts talking about a "spectrum" and "equal starting points", Moonlight. P2W doesn't have to be the completely-choking-you kind. thank god GGG don't have that one. but tabs are P2W nonetheless. "mild P2W" is also P2W. shiny MTXes and forum titles don't give you any in-game advantage whatsoever, so if you are here just to support GGG - buy those. Not true, my buddy bossasaurus has multiple accounts for each set of recipes, even has them pretty simple. I believe the emails he uses tell him which are which like alchelms@sitehere.com
Bottom line is, if there was an in-game currency to add tabs or a limit on player accounts, it would be p2w. Paying for respecs is p2w. I agree with that, but until it's on the official server idgaf. |

For me at least, I would be willing to agree that stash tabs are, to a very minor extent at least, pay2win. More tabs don't give a significant advantage, but they do give some.
For me at least and probably for most other people as well, the issue isn't so much whether pay2win exists at all. It's how the existence of that affects those people who don't want to pay or are unable to do so. It's not that those other companies selling xp boosters is inherently evil on it's own. The problem is that once they do that, what usually happens is the xp rates are balanced around those boosters to such an extent that if you DON'T buy them, it would take an unreasonable amount of time to level. Worse yet, with DLC or lockboxes, you may not be able to enter areas or obtain certain items at all without paying. With stash tabs in PoE, the situation isn't quite the same. You can play the entire game and experience everything there is without having to pay anything. If you only play a few characters at a time and don't spend huge amounts of time trading, you might be able to get by just fine without any extra tabs at all. At most, you might need to be smarter about inventory management and/or use mule accounts, but it's still possible(admittedly slightly more work). Also, I think it would be fair to say PoE gives you a pretty generous amount of storage to start out with, at least compared to other games like it. You have FAR more space than D2 offered, and even more than a fully upgraded stash in D3 would give. If they only offered 1 or 2 tabs to start with, you'd have a far stronger case for p2w being an issue. And finally, it's worth noting that at some point, having more stash tabs costs THEM money as well in the form of storage requirements on their servers and increased bandwidth to send the information about the contents of your stash to you every time you look through it. So it's only fair that at some point, they say, "if you want any more, you'll have to pay for it." |

"Well that explains why you think the alch recipe is worth a crap. Those youtube videos are probably 2 years old too. Did you quit because you "lost"? Alch recipe died in CB. Anyone doing it now is not earning alchs of it efficiently at all. I think with all the permutations, collecting ONE type of item (which you really should be doing), you'd need more stash tabs than Charan.
Chaos recipe, you need one stash tab. One. Seriously, I only have a few stash tabs because I don't like the orginsation (drives me nuts) and don't need that many. You can fit 4 sets of gear easily into one stash tab, thats 8 chaos sitting there waiting on the belts+amulets+rings. And there are plenty of gaps too to store SPARE belts/rings/amulets (which you should). I currently have about 14 belts unid'd awaiting a good home actually. But the idea you NEED stash tabs is kinda false. I just enjoy the colours on mine, and fill them with worthless gems, pointless glassblowers recipe (only important at start of new league, now have 30 of them or more), and uniques which 90% of which I won't ever use anyway |

"Upgrade to Premium Stash Tab" is P2W too.

" people pick up yellows... as at higher level maps the yellows you find can identify as exalts for sale to players. once you check the mods identifying them, if they are trash, you can either drop them on the ground, or, sell them at a vendor.... OR, drop them in your 200 Supporter Tabs Of Pay To Win. And eventually, BINGO, you get an alch. and another, and another. Why sell them to vendor when over time, statistically they have to all be eventually part of a recipe? you can't do this with 4 tabs even 1/100th the rate of a 200 tab man. And slow as a slug if you try it with 50 mule characters and/or accounts. leaving scrolls on the ground is not the same. Identifying yellows you are going to do anyway. saying things like "i don't know anybody who does"... sorta isn't worth saying when you can find videos on youtube, recent, of people who do. besides the fact you not knowing anyone who does when there are maybe 100,000 POE accounts, if not more, is sort of meaningless to say. No offense. it makes all the sense in the world to do what i described here IF you wanted to make as much currency as possible. Which i personally do not want to do myself, nor will i ever. some people though do. It's just not my thing. when/if i get stash tabs, it will be for simple convenience only to store more uniques. as i've said elsewhere though i'm not against pay cash for in game advantages. I just would like to call a spade a spade. it's an advantage, however people slice it. And apparently there are a LOT of ways people try to slice it here. |

Really, people consider recepie "3 rares with same name" a source of income.
Pure exalted orb is more likely to drop than this. Chaos recepie will drop 10 times while you farm 1 alchemy this way. I already want to buy some tabs for OP and see how he is winning hard with them. Dernière édition par Stas88#7531, le 3 juin 2014 à 04:17:13

" It's not that your argument is weak, it's that you don't actually have one here. The pseudo hardware excuse is too pathetic to be a point, and people explained you what already ( as I did ). Sorry for stating the obvious, maybe you don't like to hear it, I don't care, the world is full of assisted people already, and it's not tomorrow that I will try to assist people like you on internet. Let's take a very, very simple example : In League of Legends, one an buy champions/runes with IRL cash, there fore one can acquire much much faster the ideal setup to run anything to the top. Is LoL P2W ? Of course it isn't. It's about convenience. " And while someone took some time to get that Alch, another better/more optimized player just cleared half a map during that time and got 10 times more currency out of it. OP There is one alch recipe that can be useful, but it's not the one you think I guess, because it doesn't need a lot of space when done right. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Dernière édition par Fruz#6137, le 3 juin 2014 à 05:09:49
