I think Chaska's mechanic may just be bugged (bypassing everything), Etup's 7k armor build took the same amount of damage as Colby's eva/acrobatics.
Another explanation would be that it's chaos/very high elemental damage.
I think it's unlikely that it's just a "normal" physical spell/attack.
Which area does her dungeon spawn in? I migtht just test her damage capabilities against really high physical mitigation in standard.
7k armor is less than molten shell + granite + determination with no gear on at all. You could literally wear nothing (except gem slots) and get better armor than 7k. While granite is up, anyways.
It's possible the damage is chaos but I'm fairly certain it isn't elemental.
my evasion is so high i only insta rip sometimes

Bug Fixes:
People were using cyclone for actual melee builds, so we nerfed it and made blade vortex. Also, we went ahead and made cyclone great for CoC casters while we were at it. Dernière édition par Legatus1982#1658, le 12 mars 2014 à 01:26:09

That would be fine if it wasn't for the fact that she can offscreen you.

You really shouldn't count granite + molten when talking about countering boss hits. Manually casting molten shell is hugely unreliable due to slow cast time and being quickly destroyed. I'm going to completely disregard it. Granite is unreliable due to limited charges and it not even working when enemy hit animation starts.
So you gave the example of 1850 total armor from gear. Lets say you get 100% increased armor from the skilltree(which is far above average). With determination that's 5587.So you've been claiming this 5587 armor character can tank high boss/rare hits that range from 3k-6k? Not even close unfortunately. With granite you bump that armor to around 21k. (1850+3000)x200%)x1.51.

The bosses are very thematic and therefore I believe her attack is a hybrid damage skill. Since it hit Colby with max evasion twice in a row I'm leaning towards this being a skill that can not be evaded but given that he was getting hit by a stupid amount of projectiles, he could have rolled that 1/20 hit at the wrong times. Will stick with can not be evaded for now as a "theory". No proof.
I'm leaning towards either fire/phys like the base type or something much more nasty, fire/chaos. We all know no one runs around with 75% chaos resist in merciless. You try to get above 0% and hope for the best. I didn't see etup's death but I would be interested to see a CI character die to this attack. If it is hybrid chaos damage CI might be the best build to counter this boss. Stopping half it's damage upfront and only having to deal with the remaining half.

@Clocksimus: Are you serious? The guy in the second video got killed in less than .5 secs. Even if he saw the boss there would have been absolutely nothing he could have done to avoid that death.
He could've started by not farming an area where the rain of rip boss commonly spawns with 3k hp.

Etup died in half a second with 7k armor + 5k health.

This isn't like it's telegrapphed. The bitch fucking rains down spines constantly in an area completely cutting it off. If you noticed, she can actually do it more than once, thus cutting off multiple areas. No ability in the game is like this. None. Any ability that does that much damage to any character is typically telegraphed in this game like Dominus Slam or Vaal Slam, and doesn't cut off MULTIPLE areas of the screen.

Yes, let's ignore half of the game's mechanics and then call armor bad.
When you find some physical-based damage that ignores 100% of your armor you will have ground to stand on, until then (doesn't exist) you don't.

Well your math was really off. With a full granite on(which again is horribly unreliable) you're still only around 20k which is nothing versus big hits. Meanwhile evasion has the ability to negate a lot more damage from these hits(by not being hit).
Never seen high level molten used in an endgame setting, sorry.

If by none you exclude half of the other new invasion bosses:P Did you shit your pants when you saw the big spine boss use what I'll refer to as vaal incinerate on you? I know I did.

LOL, biggest joke of the year. Bet me your stash.
