Are there Invasion bosses in non-hardcore?

Laugh.

I'm talking about the risk vs. reward.

Apparently I'm the only person who actually looks at the monsters as I'm killing them.

But until other people do, I feel absolutely no sympathy. The "I didn't notice she was there" excuse will garner precisely zero sympathy from me.

That said, I can see a lot of poster here a trying to paint me into a position I don't actually endorse. Just because I believe you should be aware you are fighting these bosses, and thus have the opportunity to run away from them and live to fight another day, does not mean that I think these bosses are fair. I said as much earlier, in one of my first posts in this thread:

...I think it's fair to say both characters should have lived.

However, I do not believe said immediate action should have involved pressing forward and facing the boss, at least not from a risk/reward perspective. No, the best immediate action was to back away and progress through the zone using an alternate route which didn't involve the risk of fighting such abominations.

If GGG wants players to actually face those dangers once they see them, as opposed to running away like cowards, they're going to have to couple Invasion bosses with significant loot. Don't get me wrong, I'm with Clocksimus as far as nerfing the bosses themselves: keep them brutally difficult. That part is fine. But make them worth the effort to actually defeat.
The Etup video demonstrates this concept rather well. I barely even saw her, but Etup knows very well exactly what it is he's fighting; you can't say he didn't understand the risks. Of course, he dies anyway, because instead of running away, he actually tries to fight. That is the problem: not "omfg I had no chance to react," but that the risk/reward decision too heavily favors avoidance.

Until then, whenever you see that boss, you know she's not going to drop anything worthwhile, so just run.

Agree.

Imagine that - a player who doesn't play Invasion agreeing with another player who doesn't play Invasion about Invasion Balance.

The ignorance is spreading, gentlemen!

Lol ok, then same argument.

Maybe it doesn't matter where your loot comes from, the "reward" of defeating difficult bosses is being able to defeat them, that they drop, not what they drop.

Because that's why you're using good gear in the first place. ;-)

The bosses are only in the corrupted areas in leagues other than invasion.

"Maybe the reward is not loot, but surviving or even killing these bosses.
That's what hardcore is about, right?"

Contradictory?
Why would that "hardcore" mentality be present in a non-hardcore league? Or is it connected with the GGG's description of their game as a hardcore ARPG? But you were talking about the hardcore league, so...

You must have been infected. I am/was an invasion player. I only play hardcore modes on POE since open beta. Softcore bores me. I don't have any current invasion characters because they have all died to the new unique bosses. I have decided not to waste my time on invasion until some changes are made.

Bullshit.

This is from 3 seconds before death.
Spoiler

The titty boss is clearly shown on the top right, normal titty bitches — that is, a Tentacle Miscreations — is shown on the left and bottom right. The miscreation does not have proper arms, which are instead mutated into tentacles; the boss has proper arms with some kind of fan-like thing where the hands should be, and no tentacles whatsoever. A miscreation is barefoot, while the boss is wearing sandals or something. Also, the boss is much, much taller.

Much, much taller? Arms instead of tentacles? Sandals instead of being barefoot? You have to be kidding.

Seeing that kind of stuff on a screenshot or in a video when you were warned that something will happen is one thing. Good luck doing it when playing. You know, that is when everything is moving around and you have to worry about more things than one corner of your screen.

That's exactly what Scrotie doesn't understand. He subconciously knew the character was going to die just by seeing the title, or by reading what the poster said. He already knew to look for something right away. It's completely different when you are actually playing and constantly looking for all the other things that can kill you. All it takes is a second or two of hesitation and Ch'aska will kill your ass.

Speaking from a point of theory is fine and all, but actually play the league up to 60+ first before trying to call Cheese a scrub. Yes the death is avoidable if you are playing absolutely perfect, but the reality is no one plays perfect.

But Colby has seen this boss and died to her 3 times before this death. He should have figured at the latest by the second death that he should keep and eye out on ALL Tentacle Miscreations, if he is unable to tell the boss apart from the rest.

Instead he blindly rushes into a pack of them without any consideration that one of them might be the boss that has killed him three times already. I am not sure how anyone can consider this to not be carelessness.

He knew the bosses base type. He ran into a large pack of the base type. He knew he couldn't tell the base type apart from the boss. He therefore knew that any one of the mobs could have been the boss. He knew he dies instantly to this boss. He knew the risks and rushed in anyways.

He had all the knowledge to not get caught and he facerolled anyways. There is zero excuse for him in that situation about seeing the boss.

Why should GGG paint bosses a glowing colour so that careless people have a fighting chance? They do this for a number of bosses and I find it ruins the games art and should be removed from the ones that have it.

The boss does have a different model and is noticable to anyone not facerolling the game. The boss isn't glowing a bright neon colour so can be missed if players aren't paying attention. This league punishes people that don't pay attention. I don't see the issue here.
