Are Stash Tabs Pay To Win ? Science

Old News, I wrote this in 2012 when they *really were* p2w -- we could fill tabs damn near with regals and alcs with the old recipes...:
http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/25702 I believe that's one of the reasons they made so many different names because many tabs were a gigantic provable advantage. But not anymore. The extremely varied recipes are too hit and miss, you can still grab some decent orbs with the chrome helper but nothing amazing. I'm the Ps guy: Psomm, Pso, Psong, pso-on and pso-phorth. I have a question for other people who regularly farm for the chaos/regal recepies.
My experience farming these orbs has been that I find very few rings and amulets in relation to all of the other gear types. What I do is save the rings and amulets in my stash tabs since i may not find a single ring or ammy in 2-3 map runs I vendor all other useless rares keeping only rares I can sell or craft (if I didnt have the stash space I would store those rares on mule characters just like I had to do when I played D2) and then when I get enough for one of the recepies I just grab some rares on the next map I run and I usually have enough to vendor after 1 or 2 map runs. I get plenty of chaos/regal recepies using less than a single stash tab. My question to everyone else is this. Is your luck any different than mine when it comes to ring and ammy drops? Are you able to find a complete set of gear within 1-2 map runs minus rings and amulets? The vast majority of my extra stash tabs is simply me collecting things. Im tryin to get 1 of each unique so I have a tab for every type of unique gear or I have tabs full of stuff to make neat/wonky builds none of that stuff is needed to actually "play" the game its a nice conscience for me otherwise I'd have to sort through a lot of mules. " It's the same here, I just hoard ammy/rings/belts, if I had never bought any stash tab, I would never keep more for the chaos recipe ( actually, sometimes I just ... don't, more and more ). More than half of the junk that I'm keeping in my stash is just trash in Standard, because I used to find them good enough to be useful to someone and to sell it for an alch or a chaos ... but now, I'd vendor it right away. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

30 pages of text earns you some points so free bump. Still, I didn't mind buying the tabs because it feels like less than blatant P2W. |

" thread's OP is indeed phrased in a trollish way, but that doesn't mean the subject itself isn't up for serious debate, nor does it devalue it in the slightest. and we indeed had some good discussions here. I still think Stash Tabs are a P2W element, but one that does not make Path Of Exile a P2W game. that's an important distinction, but one that pretty much puts me in the middle - between those who say "PoE is P2W", and those who zealously argue that tabs themselves are not P2W. I disagree with both, and I'm not sure that's a good place to be standing in, in the PoE forum. Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat
