MANA LEECH IS RUINED
" Incorrect. Mana and life are different forms of "fuel" much the same way electricity and fossil fuels are. Thus, an engine that uses one instead of the other has a different mechanism. I don't know how to make this any easier for you to understand. " This is incorrect and misleading. For instance, using Blood Magic/Life Leech combination trivializes "resource management." Trying to sustain your spells with mana is about 100000x harder. A point to any new players reading this: Fruz does not speak from experience. Do not take anything he says about Path of Exile seriously. Dernière édition par tikitaki#3010, le 19 mars 2014 à 09:53:32

Holy fuck, threads like this are why these forums have a terrible reputation.
Can you people not help yourselves from attempting to discard everything somebody says by arguing semantics? It makes you look like a blithering idiot who has no way to contribute other than derailing. If you are spending more time telling people they are wrong and then getting yourself proven wrong than you are giving feedback, you really shouldn't be in the feedback section. " Fruz does this in nearly every thread, and for some reason the moderators allow it. He'll even call you a troll if you disagree with his semantics arguments. |

Kind of a nonsequitur, but I wonder if Vaal Pact would be better if it read
"Leech applies instantly at 40% effectiveness. 50% less Life and Mana Regeneration." When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. " Not true. My duelist in HC uses doublestrike melee splash with slitherpinch. I cannot sustain his mana output and he even has better mana regen and gear than my ambush duelist. This is all because he attacks faster. Leech is now better with slower attack which deal high amounts of damage. While low damage, fast hitting attacks are affected by it because the splash DOES NOT leech as well. |

You guys must be doing fuck all damage if you aren't still capping your mana leech with the single target damage from your aoe skill.
While attacking, I was constantly at 12.5% before and I'm constantly at 12.5% now, and it's not any better or any worse. Regenerating in between packs with queued mana leech means fuck all because you're going to have enough mana to start up anyway unless you aren't paying attention. Run clarity on life and get a few regen nodes. Run hybrid flasks instead of life flasks. For ES/CI: Run a mana flask instead of one of your utility flasks. Consider dropping boots for rainbowstride for extra leech potential. Dernière édition par Xendran#1127, le 19 mars 2014 à 10:50:58

" There is no such thing as "capping" your mana leech. It always happens at the same exact rate, regardless of how much damage you do or how much you leech. That rate is 12.5% of your max mana pool. Thus, dealing more damage increases /duration/ of your leech. The goal, obviously, would be to be leeching constantly as you attack (no gaps) " It will definitely be worse depending on what skill you are using and how it's setup. A SHITLOAD worse, in certain situations. It has less to do with how much damage you deal, and more to deal with the nature of your attacks. If your build hits a lot of attacks simultaneously for smaller chunks of damage, your net result can still be to deal a /lot/ of damage. However, if all those hits are simultaneous, only exactly 1 of those hits will count towards leech. And if that hit is not particularly massive, it won't leech for a very long time. QQ post over First World Problems.
"Waaah, I can't deal with resource management on my 6L...." Cheese, needed for this wine. |

" Why are posts like this allowed on the feedback forum? I've been put on probation for /far less/ Your argument seems to be: "You must be rich since you have a 6L. Since you are rich, that justifies your builds getting ruined by a patch change, even though your build was not in any way OP." I think it's this mentality that leads the game to be so unrewarding for people. People spend all this time and effort constructing their build, and a patch just swoops in and screws it up because some other guy with a hilariously OP build was making use of the mechanic. The goal should be to specifically nerf the OP builds, but GGG instead goes for heavy handed, broad changes, leading to shitloads of collateral damage. " I assumed that everybody knew how leech worked, so i used the term capping as a replacement for "Permanently leeching while attacking". " I use Frenzy + Melee Splash and stack attack speed to the tits. I know all about lots of simultaneous hits. I can see this hurting something like a battery build that tries to maintain full leech, or somebody with an aoe that is either weak or relies on indirect damage. Thing is, i'm seeing a ton of endgame melee players complaining. If your damage is low enough that you can't constantly leech while attacking, and you have absolutely no possible way to restore your mana in between packs, you are probably doing something wrong. What i will say is this DEFINITELY is a big big hit to levelling, but there is not that much of an impact on the late game for most builds. You only need around 5,000 physical dps to leech constantly with 2% leech. Less than that if you're using a mana leech gem. You should be calculating your damage so that you have a proper ratio of leech to damage. And again, Clarity on life, regen nodes, rainbowstride, flasks. When you run life leech on a life character, do you drop your health flasks? If not, why do you feel entitled to be able to drop your mana flasks when running mana leech?
