It's frustrating how good Bringer of Rain is.

The only reason why spell block is considered OP is its the only mechanic that allows you to deal with ridiculous spell damage that you see in end game bosses. There isn't equivalent of immortal call or enfeeble for spells, the only thing there is spell block, and due to the cap at 75%, you either have to invest ridiculous amounts in gear which may not even work with your build properly, or you could just get spell block

BoR on its own is fine, the issue we have is really a result of the retarded scaling of spell damage due to how the spell damage formula works, which is why everyone is going for spell block

But Enfeeble does lower the crit chance/multiplier and the overall damage for spell mobs. Anything that can lower damage to good extent is good. Of course, it is still not enough, so you invest in getting enough res as you possibly can, and try to crack 80 with one of the res, or all of it, if you are using Saffell's Frame to reduce spell damage even more. BoR + Saffell's Frame (maxed) on the spot is 49% spell block, and that alone only makes a huge difference when dealing with spell damage. Combine it with the all max res + Enfeeble, and you will be able to tolerate spell damage.

Of course, the downside of Saffell's Frame is that you cannot block attacks, so that can be costly, if you face Dominus since he can attack and use spells one after the other. That is where Aegis Aurora come in and does the job.

Lioneye's Remorse + Saffell's Frame = Aegis Aurora.

You can use lioneyes and get spell block just as easily as with aegis you just dont get free ES/ be able to AFK against fast hitters like voids/ Titty bitches / Chimeras.

Voids are not an issue as long as I am equipped with Saffell's Frame. Titty bitches and chimeras mostly deal physical damage, so with Lioneye's Remorse equipped, I only feel mosquito bites. My only moment when my builds shows its flaw is when I fought Dominus in residence maps (rare map) with no life regeneration and other stuff I forgot. The "no life regeneration" essentially cut off one of the biggest key point of my build, life regeneration. I wanted to see how I can fare against him, and I was doing very well with his lighting beam, pretty much tanking it with Saffell's Frame, but the moment he used the storm fist of doom, my shield was paper to it. If I use Lioneye's Remorse, it would be paper to the lighting beam.

Problem is my reaction is not god-like to anticipate it. Sure I can dodge it or reequip the shield instantly, but no life regeneration maps means I got to keep hitting no matter what to life leech, so I was pretty much deep-rooted. I killed him in the end, but that cost me 2 lives.

My build is not meant to have the spell block amulet, and Rainbowstrides since that would essentially destroy the core of my build.

Not op.
Blind isnt really that important.

A strong 6L chestpiece + better helm is vastly better always.

It's a strong unique, but you can't just slap it on and call it a day.

I know this was posted back in early december but as I read through this thread I see this argument arising time and time again. It is exactly what this guy says it supposedly isn't - you really can just slap it on and call it a day.

If it's OP then it would be used as a gem a lot more than it's used now (I've never seen anyone using the gem version of Blind).

Nothing OP here, just useful.

Bringer of Rain remains one of the most lauded Diamond designs, by both players and the devs. There's no denying it has upset the metagame, but as others have said, it's hardly best in slot without investing in other things.

Although I am sure that GGG are willing to Nerf a Diamond unique, I would be surprised if they didn't consult with PrpnNightmare first.

My guess is that block will be revised, given just how powerful it is. I'd love it if GGG could reduce block chance while a character is moving. Keep in mind I am a huge advocate for Crest of Perandus with blind. Those two alone are a massive, cheap boost to a character's durability.

As for the conditional 7link of BoR, GGG have definitely learned a lesson. They vetoed a design I proposed, with massive drawbacks, solely on a 7link element.
