It's frustrating how good Bringer of Rain is.
BoR is the poor man's block build, nothing more, nothing less.
Not having US with a block build is infuriating (except cyclone I guess), but BoR sort of forces you to stay away from US so you can get some utility out of blind. Block builds are much, much smoother with US because of block stun. And good aegis builds can get a LOT more armor and a LOT more ES with a proper helm/chest. Both of which are actually very important to Aegis. Not to mention the resist dilemma. BoR is just a cheesy get out of jail free card for people that either can't afford a better setup or aren't willing to think of their own builds. Seeing people running around with Soul Taker and BoR crack me up, because I know they could've made a much, much better build with that kind of wealth if they just thought about it instead of blindly following one of the ten thousand guides to BoR builds. BoR is a 6L... blind is garbage. And maybe in nemisis its best in slot, but it isn't in standard. I play melee duelist with kaoms so I wouldn't wear one. Kaoms is more broken of course. Ppl with shavs wouldn't wear one. Ranged don't wear it. Casters don't wear it. And if you had a good 6L armor I would probably rather wear the other unique nightmare basinet with run speed, ias, chaos res and dex. Is BoR good? Extremely. But it isn't game breaking. Uniques like BoR are awesome. Its exactly what a unique should be. Now if it didn't have the can't wear chest armor I would agree. As is its pefect. Honestly its pretty cheap too. 10-12ex for essentially 2 pieces of end game gear... stop the qq

" It would be so horrid with 1s I don't think it would be worth 1 ex. I'd rather wear goldrim... This ia honestly a good unique for poor players, not rich ones. Ppl with gg don't wear t. I think its a good equalizer for cheap to make a better toon for less. And it isn't build enabling.... at all. Rise of the phoenix is build enabling. Bor is just a very good, extremely cheap (for the value) helm. It reminds me a lot of Buriza-Do-kayanan from D2. Cheap but extremely good for people that couldn't afford the vastly more expensive windforce. ign: Axxiom

blind is a beast. one of most underrated gems in the game, period.
the synergy of just blind+enfeeble is crazy, and if youre an eva+acro+ondsars toon (those three go together), blind and enfeeble will basically make sure attacks hit you once in a blue moon. the thing is you dont have to put blind on main skill necessarily, however. flame totems are extremely popular choice for blind because they blanket a big aoe area and they keep it on for a while until totems are killed |

" Blind is good against some bosses, against the rest it's mostly irrelevant since a good melee build will melt everything down, and what he has not been hitting yet did not get the chance to be blinded or its elemental damage ( because let's face it ... the real threats are mostly elemental, not physical ). So no, blind is in 95% of the times not worth linking. It's good against kole/brutus-like bosses, granted, and some hard hitting rares, but that's about it honestly. Cyclone builds can have more use for it since they get somewhat more exposed and are not relying on burst. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

Yeah, that's true. People that need blind badly usually 4-link it as a secondary attack for single target, or use totem. A few people will waste a socket to link blind to main skill.
Blind built-in BOR is a bit useful, bit it doesn't really matter if it's there, or not. BOR - block build enabler for the poor, with serious downsides. This is a buff © 2016

" elemental attacks are blinded just as well as physical, Im not sure why you make the distinction here. maybe you meant 'spells' ? a good melee build will probably involve IR anyway, but IR is about to get nerfed (Im sure of it) in the expansion. for acro melee builds blind is a beast, again. maybe not for 100ex+ builds that can annihilate most content without worrying too much about defenses and leech back life/shield with VP or something...but otherwise, blind is a beast on any toon with evasion Dernière édition par grepman#2451, le 3 mars 2014 à 13:52:41

" This is mostly (if not entirely) PvE game, not PvP. So who cares? What does hugeeee amount of armor does against 10K+ physical damage hits? I'll tell you what - it does the same as no armor does. What does a blinded mob with 10K+ pdmg/hit does to you? Most likely misses, if not, most likely hits shield. If that all fails, it still hits at least 3-4 ECharges that do flat % dmg reduction. Now do the math with your 6L chest against: 75/75% block 75% chance that mob misses you 75% chance to gain ES when mob eventually hits you (in my case, I gain ~500ES per block, which is not much but enough with 4500HP and 600ES, 77/84/77 res, 5 ECharges) chance to gain ECharge on block and last but not least - swap 4 colors in your 7L to almost any combo, save for some insane combos that a melee wouldn't need anyway. How are you Alpha Tester? No offense, but really, BoR + AA + RS + SoL is THE tank combo. Blind is so underrated, I know, I've been there myself. All I have now is:

You're using Soul Taker for Double Strike, that's really a big waste.
Guys like you are the reason why it's so expensive. By "guys like you", I mean guys that don't know how to manage mana, so they pay more than 3 times for a weapon. |

" I swap skills, sometimes I run dominating blow, sometimes cyclone....depends. And the reason why it is so expensive is because crafting is even more expensive and good luck getting 300+ pdps weapon to drop in this game. I didn't buy it for the mana part, I bought it for the DPS. I managed my mana just fine without it, but WITH IT I could remove 4 mana related nodes and take something else. PS. It's worth paying 3x more for ST then for a rare 350pdps 1h axe. I would go as far to say that rare 350dps isn't worth 1/10 of ST, but that's just my opinion. ;) "Path of Exile be a online Action RPG set up in tha dark fantasy ghetto of Wraeclast.
