Lightning strike:
Infuses your melee weapon with electrical energies as you swing. In Addition to converting some of your physical damage from the weapon as projectiles.
now lets take a look at Multistrike
Multistrike:
It clearly states 40% less melee damage
So lightning strike gains its damage from "Physical damage" not melee damage which you mods seem confused about.
Melee and physical damage does not mean the same thing ;) Just take Ethereal knives as an example.
Conclusion:
This is clearly a nerf that has been thrown at us, because of an oversight. I'm not really against it I just don't like nerfs that get hidden behind "bug fixing"
If it did to much damage fine nerf it no problem with me just say it straight out ;)
Thank you for this, you explained it very well.

It's an oversight, a mistake that passed into an official patch. It will soon be corrected. The devs did not intend for a projectile to benefit from multistrike with no penalty.
Not really that hard to understand. It was an obvious OP mechanic(88% IAS with no drawbacks).

Yes and that is why they are "Nerfing" it please try and understand the meaning of the words :p

This game is all about finding skill and passive combos to be as effective as possible. Just because something wasn't intended does not mean it should be nerfed into the ground. Lightning Strike never does Melee Damage, so why would it receive a Melee Damage Reduction?

It was not an intended mechanic to be "nerfed". It's a fix for something that escaped testing. A nerf would be directly lowering the damage or changing the actual skill.
They could either make multistrike apply to this special case(while treating the projectiles like a melee hit)... or they make it only speed up the melee hit and not the projectiles(though I'm not sure that's possible).

By that logic multistrike should not work with the projectiles at all. Read my two above options. They can either treat this as a special case or they can somehow separate the two forms of lightning strike when combined with multistrike.

They will have to change how LS works they will have to make it take the proj dmg from melee dmg instead of physical. aka nerf
Also as it¨'s now it works as it says on the skills so it works correctly its just to powerful this way and needs to be nerfed

Lightning Strike is a Melee Attack that never does any Melee Damage.
1. Lightning Strike is used, it is a Melee Attack so the attack speed applies here.
2. Converts half of physical to lightning.
3. Converts to projectile
4. Projectile is released.
5. Projectile hits an enemy and deals projectile damage.
Never does any Melee Damage while still being a Melee Attack. How is that not intentional?

You seem to have a different definition of nerf.. In your previous post you claim it's an oversight then you state it's a nerf because of that?
By definition an oversight is a mistake caused by special circumstances. The devs just didn't double check that specific skill. As a player it's quite clear how this is a mistake(huge bonus for no penalty).
If you were treating the whole melee definition equally then multistrike would have zero effect on the projectiles.. but that isn't really feasible due to how LS works.

Yes because of their oversight they need to nerf the skill. Why is that so hard to understand?
Lightning strike has 2 components
1 melee
1 ranged projectiles
so of course it will work with it so that it hits 3 times instead of 1 thus producing 3x3 projectiles.
