Please bring map boss hp down
" She was a nightmare when I was using 90% physical damage with physical reflect. Even with that, I think she only killed me once. I didn't think she was that hard. |

In 3.0.0 there are both changes for good and for bad when it comes to map bosses.
Good thing - there is better balance generally - I see that physical dmg bossed got stronger. So it seems like it is not anymore the case that spell casting/elem dmg bosses are difficult and melee/physical are piece of cake. Bad thing - overall boss HP is indeed too high. You spend enormous amount of time to kill the boss, while the drop is very poor. Seems like the only purpose of entering map arenas is when you need to complete the objective or capture shit to divine vessel. |

This league is worst ever.
t4+ with 8mod unplayable. GGG this is FAIL. |

Boss HP increase while noticeable was not a problem for me until I decided to run Quarry and after that Mud Flats. Quarry boss is a chaos sentinel, which means my -60 resistance (usual practice for me when playing SSF) became a huge problem. Amethyst flask was no great help due to boss huge HP and need to reposition myself very often, which meant I run out of charges while not reducing boss' HP much. It bacame mix of chasing after flask charges and panic moments where my HP disappeared under barrage of chaos spells. This is perfect example of boss where HP buff is a problem--damage output of the boss is maintained while HP is significantly increased to a point where flasks can not carry you through the fight.
Next example is Tunneltrap in Mud Flats. This boss is for a while known as bane of melee, however, with adequate damage output and some flasks you could defeat him with reasonable safety. This approach got nuked by 3.0 where his HP is so high that you will need to spend too much time in his vicinity while only having limited flasks as pre-3.0. |

" You mean a perfect example of a fight when you cannot just pop your flask and burst the boss down, ignoring its mechanics and just brute forcing him ? Sounds like a very good thing to me. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" I also did Innocense as Molten Strike Chieftain with around 2.2k health. Try to get to the other side of the room when he summons the small floating balls and you can dodge them after they spread a bit. Run in circles (use quicksilver) when he uses the beam. At the end of the fight i got a bit cocky but with high res i actually survived one wave of his balls actually hitting me for a bit.. Dunno about easy gameplay outside of boss-fights, Totems tend do be a pretty safe playstyle, at least in storymode... Just got destroyed by the Act7 boss myself because of my own stupidity/impatience.. all the beams beeing purple and the only thing i do is port to town and grab a chaos flask, reenter my portal and immediately die to multi-lazers with -30 chaos resist >.< Could have easily swapped gear for the fight ;-; |

So far I´ve done maps to T10 (port being the only T10).
Notable WTF bosses (in comparison to other bosses of their tier) where the 3 dudes in Vaal Pyramids (T3). Before I could kill them one by one pretty much, but with the increased boss health the fight can become a clusterf*ck very quickly. Then there´s the witch in Burial Chambers (T5). Blew me up twice before I got her. To be fair I had faster casting, attack speed, etc. mod on the map, so her casting looked like a dislocated shoulder waiting to happen. But still, much harder than other T5 bosses. Port boss was also no joke. Though I haven´t fought other T10s yet so I can´t compare. The first time I couldn´t beat him. The second time I went ham on flask crafting and went in with 4 staunching flasks. Bit overkill maybe but it worked. Also the prophecy that makes bosses possessed by tormented spirits is evil. I got twinned Gnar and his Archer friend(Canyon)possessed. They got me good. Died 3 Times, before I managed to kill them. I was lucky to have a Zana on the Map, so I could escape into her map to replenish flasks. Fortunately only one had the "I curse you with everything on hit" spirit. The second time I got that prophecy it was that Tunnelsomething boss on Mud Geyser. Also not nice, but could be fooled by totems and golem, so he ate me only twice, lol. |

Personally I like to see that Bosses give a guaranteed map drop.
I dont know but maybe something along the lines 2.5% unique, 22.5% a tier higher (if bonus done), 25% same tier, 25% tier below, 25% 2 tiers below. maybe a percentage to get a sextant as well, they are too rare If there is a problem with people quitting a 100, why not remove the level cap and lave the death penalty?, yeah some people are going to become massively over powered with a lvl 120+ char, so what? It's a hell of a grind and most builds show 'here it is at lvl 92/93' as that is what most people get to. It would give the ladder and races more meaning. Wow this thread turned into quite the pity party lol.

" The thread is not wrong though. Right now 95% of the builds are totems/cyclone/sunder. The non-totems are ofc vaal pact, one of the culprits of es double-dipping. |
