I just like to kill bosses which can take more then 1-2 hits. You dont, so just skip the bosses - you just said they drop jackshit, so why do you bother with em at all?

Maybe they could implement a new mechanic : "Essence of Luck".

Every time you slay a map boss, you receive a "Mote of luck" buff stack. Whole stack dissipates when map boss drops a map. Each mote enhances boss map drop chance a bit.

Could give us that feeling that we gained at least a little something for that minute of whacking for two blue items dropped.

I cant really answer it, because it is kinda subjective, for me several rares from a boss is sufficient. For some other people it might not be... What should a drop in such a map drop in your opinion?

I agree, very subjective.

For me it's:
+3-4 ilevels to items
3x rares guaranteed
OK % on one unique


I other words, modest requirements
I just started mapping shortly and only saw early tiers. You definitely feel increase of HP for bosses. I took long break for most of Legacy league and did not keep up to date with development to avoid spoilers for this expansion so I do not know reasoning behind it nor how it was balanced (did not fully catch up to forums yet).

My worry is that increased HP was not balanced by appropriate reduction in offensive ability of these bosses. More HP mean more time it takes to kill a boss, which in turn means player is longer exposed to deadly onslaught some bosses can dish out. I dread the moment I will face Piety, Crematorium boss or any bosses with chaos damage....until 3.0 I relied on flasks and my ability to kill them in few seconds to avoid deaths. If I'm not able to kill them quickly, I will not be able to rely on flasks, which in turn means I will have to either get lucky with gear or abandon my SSF and trade for gear.

Again, I have only seen low tiers now so I can not fully judge yet how this new balancing works but considering how unrewarding killing bosses always was and I have no reason to believe it is still not as rewarding as we would like to, I have concerns about this part of the game.
Tested it in beta and killed most bosses up to T15.

Some of them are still pushovers, some are ok-ish and some are just retarded. Even if you were focussing on one specific maptier, bosses are not in line. Not even close.
Like all of the warband bosses in Shipyard, Beacon and Sulphur Waste. Spring Oaks, High Gardens are tough and Core Malachai was just insane.

It was in beta, so my gear was far from optimal, but the rewards are just bad overall.
Rarely worth the time investment, unless you are running a dedicated boss killer build and you still can burst them down in no time.
But even then it feels bad to get loot worth 0.5 chaos per boss on average. Sure, you´ll get a +2 map every now and then. But thats not worth it, if you are going to shape your atlas.

Most of the time you are better off skipping bosses and farming maps instead.
And thats just sad.

Maybe a more constructive suggestion would be useful here. What would you consider to be acceptable encouragement to do bosses? I would have the map's exp reorganized so that the boss gives a much larger fraction of it compared to now, for example. I'm not sure exactly how you could use loot to incentivize fighting the boss except maybe a guaranteed map drop or something or currency drops like a strongbox.

here is a suggestion for GGG in their infinite wisdom: if they buff the fucking boss hp two times, they should also buff the IIQ/IIR of bosses twice as well. Common logic. Guess the retards in their QA balancing team can't use common logic.
