Please bring map boss hp down
I think the bosses hp are pretty fine now, it's much more challenging.
Maybe a slight nerf on some bosses are welcome but it's much better than before. IGN gubert

I have always liked to make gimmicky builds, not going for clear speed nor super high DPS... but with this change... I think I need to make a scorching ray meta build....

They honestly just need to do a serious pass over map boss mechanics to make sure they have a "tough but fair" approach to their AI. Some are flat out punishing to melee, very few seem punishing to ranged in the same way. Since I haven't done a passive run on my standardcore main, I can't speak too much to boss HP yet, but I can definitely speak to their challenge being too random and too melee punishing. When melee does not do notably more damage for the same investment compared to ranged and caster builds, though, we definitely are running into an even bigger problem. Poor/lazy/unfair mechanics that require a play-it-safe style already harms melee, but when on top of it I'm not rewarded with significantly stronger DPS for comparable investment, the game becomes a chore.
As someone who highly prefers melee playstyles (I really have a hard time finding ranged/spell builds I like) it really affects my interest, and standing there an extra 30 seconds for bosses I can already face tank for a couple of meh rares and minutes more to those I can't because they're damage sponges is NOT fun. If they really want to do something for the meta builds in maps, why not have Shaper events? A reverse DPS check where if you're killing too quickly it "punishes" you with shaping the boss? Whatever data they have they should be able to see how quickly a boss is killed by what classes at what levels. A general average (say, half health in under 20 seconds for an appropriate tier to level ratio as an example) with adjustments based on Magic VS Rare map, solo VS group, and certain individual bosses would be a great improvement to Atlas. Of course, a shaped boss should also result in a bit of better loot, but this would be an ideal time for them to implement the HP with the Shaper effect and revert the change almost entirely otherwise. This way, lesser builds are given an appropriate challenge and reward while metabuilds are, as well, without grossly incentivizing the meta build playstyle. |

So I wanted to check if Shock and Horror was toned down from the absurd mess it always was, naive me. Killed instantly by a pack of totems, 7k of life and es combined with capped resistances gone literally in a fraction of a second while standing behind a pillar.
It's cool that the boss has more HP now though, it was obviously a total joke and a pushover before! |

" had plenty of 'close calls' (30% hp left) but with 5k life non-VP melee.. key is movement. situational awareness. if you want to die vs this boss - facetank. it is the WORST strategy, esp with all this shocked ground everywhere and stun-locking totems i do not consider this boss 'tough' or even 'risky'. risky is Plaza's Goddess that can screw you over with nasty teleport or Maze's Vaals on steroids when they start lazering you down simultaneusly (double boss) but shock and horror? duck behind the pillar, lure totems out, dps, repeat. i know i know - it is not an instant deletion. i know. but i actually play games to be challenged and i like these chagnes. now buff white mobs as well so people finally start appreciating stuff like mitigation |
