Permanent Loot Allocation ... for .. why?

My 2 cents: I find that the groups that do perma allocation (which is >50% these days) have members that are completely worthless, due to the "guaranteed" loot. Afkers, non-dpsers, chest-poppers, hang-so-far-behind-they-almost-aren't-even-in-range-to-be-on-loot-list'ers, etc.

While this shouldn't be a problem, "go make your own group or join one that doesn't have them", they simply don't fill up anymore like perm groups do, as the other portion of players, those that aren't worthless; tend to still be impatient and want to hop into *any* group that will fill up more quickly (and therefore maximize loot+xp potential).

What neither group seems to realize is that its boring, incredibly boring, without that loot tension. And they will both be joining the "uh well I like the game but I just kinda got bored and stopped playing" group.

Just my opinion.

This isn't an issue caused by perma allocation and I'd argue that it's not really even made worse by it. You see, useless people can still be useless in parties that aren't using perma allocation.
Gotta say, I am having a good laugh here. I was expecting people to stop repeating the same shitty "arguments" after page 3, turns out they didnt.

The problem is, you have people that build completely defensive builds and will just 'hover' around in mobs and wait for ranged to kill, but won't actively do any killing themselves. So while the ranged people are in the process of killing enough of the mob for it to be safe for them to rush in and grab their loot, there are remaining monsters that continue to pose a threat. Said defensive player, or what we call a 'tank', will simply sit there and take their loot because they know that they'll be killed if they get too close to the mob themselves. Permanent allocation is great, because it allows us 'glass cannons' to get our fair share of loot.

Edit to mention: I guess it's fair if a person's internet lags and someone else grabs their loot?...Fair seems like a rather subjective term, doesn't it?

And how is that a problem? You decided to go glass canon eventhough its a pretty stupid thing to do in end game. Needles to say that I dont really get your point because in my experience you are always able to pick up loot "safely" (some exceptions exist). Said that I am a HC player so its unacceptable for me run 3-4000ES in end game maps, which by the looks of it is what you do. Since, at least by my experience, youre able to safely loot with lifeleech based and totem based characters (at least I always was) with an ES of 6000, which is pretty squishy in 73+ maps. Life based builds have it even easier since instantflasks provide insane protection.

Wouldnt it be ok if they removed perma allocation from HC and Onslaught then? Afterall in those leagues noone goes glasscannon to begin with. Believe me I couldnt care less about Standard but if thats your argument you should be fine with that, no?

Its not about satisfying people, its about them abandoning one of their own principles. Something they always considered core of the game in closed beta.

Its sad seeing them taking the casual playerbases d*** after 5 months already.

They haven't abandoned their principles. The only stated that they prefer loot tension. They then said they realize other people do not so they added options.

Not so complicated when you stop putting words in their mouths is it?

When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
The devs learned something new, bring out the pitchforks!
The "change it my way" peoples usually go for a cudgel rather than a pitchfork.
Hey...is this thing on?

You are aware that YOU are the people who wanted them to change the game, right? We are the people who wanted the game to stay as it was.

Thank god that GGG listened to us & not you, get over it!
Uhm, no, perm loot allocation (the way I run my parties) means that you clear maps FASTER, because people don't quit fighting to go stand over and clickclickclickclickclick on that Chaos orb. Plus, people who knowingly join perm allocation groups do not have the 'loot ninja' mentality, and are therefore less likely to be assholes, ie, you.
