In two weeks PoE will have less STEAM players than at the end of last leagues
Spoiler
" Sorry I was referring to marketing in the hype sense. Like they should get more involved about getting people excited to play their product with things like build of the week and when someone criticizes the game and wants a fix that is contrary to GGG's vision for the game they could then help out the community by posting their reasoning behind whatever and maybe give hints about how to better utilize whatever. The reason I say that at all is because look how successful the april fools win fireworks was. It was a great marketing/hype idea that really took off and people were very receptive to that. Small things like that can go a long way towards endearing the player base to the game. |

You might add the fact each patch is based on the scammers that got everything they have by low-ball trading 27hours a day constantly.
For legit solo players the game is becoming more and more of a stressful day then a good day gaming. each rogue exile upgrade was based on steamers with excellent gear 6k+life can solo pretty much any boss.. Your average player has about 3k hp by level 80 with garbage gear from no drops and dies 3-5times every few maps preventing any progress what so ever. and btw those deaths occur by bullshit powered random encounters like inga and other random shit that hits for ridiculous damage like for instance.. since patch 1.1.2 Ash Lessard 1shot myself 3k hp 97% lightning resistance with lightning coil using ethereal Kamehameha and one shot again as soon as I reentered the portal by death trap. also cleared my 12 17k+ max resistance zombies in a fraction of an instant not to mention the multiple spectre's 14skeletons 4k hp each. it was a nightmare, I ended up running away. and thats only one scenario Any betrayal you can see is trivial, What is truly frightening and much more lethal is the
betrayal you cannot see.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ _____________________________________IGN is Syphiroth_ this is a respected list for reasons. rrtson |

" Invasion was designed to be uber hard. Anyone quitting PoE because they are being killed too many times doesn't understand that it is working as intended. From my more casual playing viewpoint I'm loving the fact that the hardcore crowd is getting too much of what they wished for (more uber hard content please) and find it humorous that I'm hearing complaints that it's too uber hard. The OP stated that Steam statistics only represent a fraction (1/3?, 1/4 maybe?) on total PoE players so we know these numbers should be looked at with a grain of salt. The Steam statistics is a useful tool to see a trend in the number of daily PoE players. The exact numbers are not as important as the line drawn to show the steady decrease in average number of players playing PoE. This downward trend correlates nicely with my post yesterday theorizing why D3:RoS has gotten 2.7 million in sales in just over 1 week on the market (http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/879827). GGG is at a crossroads and PoE is in need of some changes if it and GGG are to survive. The PoE devs are very hardcore arpg players at heart and that's good for them but with the trend these days of more and more of the younger generation wanting more instant gratification in their entertainment activities GGG has programmed PoE to be ever harder and harder with each new act and 4 month content update. That in and of itself is great for the hardcore long term PoE players who eat up all the content and always want more. But by always making PoE harder and harder there must be a counterbalance to justify the time required to complete the 3 levels of PoE and do end game maps. The counterbalance I'm referring to needs to come in the form of higher quality loot at the higher levels (item scaling), higher drop rates on the crafting orbs (alts, jewellers, fusings, alchs, etc.), and a better match up of value of loot dropped for the difficulty to acquire it (harder rares, elites, uniques should on average drop higher quality items). To date none of the PoE patches has made any improvement to drops, only very insignificant minor tweaks here and there. So as difficulty spirals upward (which I'm in favor of) the rewards for taking on and beating the ever harder content should also be spiraling upward. But this part of PoE is lagging and now with RoS and "Loot 2.0" it's easy for me to see why there are fewer and fewer PoE players. While GGG provides some of the best support in the computer gaming business their refusal to offset the harder content with greater rewards is hurting them and the future survivability of the company does not look too promising. Unless Chris and company decide to give us a better reason to sink huge amounts of time into their arpg when we are constantly being lured and pulled away to other arpgs and other entertainment that delivers a higher value (I realize this is very subjective) for our precious free time the trend that is shown by the Steam player statistics will continue. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

" If I thought so, I'd play D3 and not hang out here. Why don't you?
" 1. People have hopes that GGG will one day see the light. 2. One cannot just play constantly, need some variation. Posting in forum gives variation. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

People's obsession with whether games are "dying" is such a fascinating phenomenon. I'd like to write a paper on it some day.
I mean, I can understand people having issues with individual PoE leagues losing players. That makes progression in gear more difficult, particularly in Hardcore leagues. Read my book! The world ending in every way anyone ever thought it might end, all at once. First few chapters are available online for free. http://www.amazon.com/The-End-World-Know-ebook/dp/B00CZ21JAQ Dernière édition par TheTenthDoc#6709, le 8 avr. 2014 à 11:01:16

" But those people don't post "ROS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>", which contributes nothing and is only aimed at antagonizing others. I find it fairly frustrating how close PoE comes to succeeding D2, and then falls short because Chris and the one or two other people who call the shots refuse to let go off of their "visions" (while ignoring much of the feedback) and refuse to even offer options, but I do believe in the game's potential, and I think it's fundamentally a great game. Certainly better than D3, which is so inherently flawed that it can't even get fixed. PoE is at least very fixable. If I didn't believe this, I'd not support it.
" People are social creatures greatly caring about their community / surroundings, they do follow success stories, but avoid / abandon failures. Especially where economy and trading is a crucial part of the game (although suppose not for everyone). |
