" Judging from the dev responses I've seen, Uniques don't seem to work that way IIR. If they do, please link me to thread. I ran wondertrap + Aurseize for a week, gathered several hundred alts and the chaos recipe quite a few times. Put on Sadima + Goldwyrm, Dropped Bringer of Rain, Abyssus, Thunderfist with 3 hours. Either way, You can't just put on only MF gear and run maps with dual totems. Just can't do it. Goldwyrm has 60% mana regen and up to 50% fire resist (which goes a long way for RF.) " Unless you carry one of these. My RF build is already much more survival oriented than most. I go to the Marauder life regen node as well. This lets me get away with running RF with + Chaos damage/ Min max Resistance, or 50% regen. If I get two of them and vulnerability thrown in, I can't run RF continuously, and toggle it on during boss fights, then turn it back off with a flask. Anarchy/Onslaught T shirt

" Oh no, not at all :) I am absolute altoholic, I have more theory crafts than I have time to ever possibly build. I really only had this one lined up on the table to either prove or disprove how disastrous ZO is, otherwise with that off the table I'd be much, much more interested in playing a helicopter next. My only point about having the theory craft lined up, was that it's not just Shavs low life that could run it (which, it has occurred to me that, in so saying, I might have been replying to somebody besides you.. Don't recall off the top of my head who commented that only Shavs uses RF). The skill in its current form is still useful else wise, and wouldn't be in need of a change if it weren't for ZO.

Scotie the strength area is about the only area that deserves elemental adaptation as that area is all about mitigation. In fact there is more %life in the dex area (just nothing meaningful at all).
Mitigation: More elemental resistance Elemental adaptation Reduced increased critical damage Endurance charges Armour High mitigation, slow life return: Life leech (without vaal pact) Life regen Life on hit Life on kill So the EA change is a bad idea and doesn't fit the game theme (there is more than the cold (should have been nature), lightning and fire to tree in terms of themes). I feel so much more is left in terms of mitigation (sort of more options, why is the enfeeble curse intelligence based? and getting evasion and life balanced). So issues with RF should be done by looking at the skill, perhaps in the end you have to conclude that it doesn't even belong in PoE. If you want PoE to facilitate skills such as righteous fire (and more) than the core game should support it in a balanced way, that might require some serious redesign. The ES changes could work in terms of getting some balance on the skill. |
