Why all the clear speed meta hate?
" And for me, oneshoting all enemies on screen no matter what their stats are, is boring. I can recall tons of arcade games with just the same playstyle. IGN: MortalKombat

With Vaal Pact no longer affecting ES, ES builds will have to rethink reflection -> probably slower clearing to not oneshot oneself.

I have no idea where this clear speed "meta" came into play. No matter what, people are going to push there builds to go faster and faster and faster. We do it in almost every game we play even outside of PoE and ARPGs. We didn't enter the clear speed meta, we are always in it.
That being said, when monsters don't even exist in PoE except a few types that have death mechanics, then you have an issue. Why bother developing new monsters for these 6 new acts if they are only going to exist for a fraction of a second on screen, or in some cases.. die offscreen. Might as well change every enemy to be a zombie at that point, it wouldn't change the game at all. People don't want the game to move at a crawl, but the speed/power that we have now is a little much. |

I prefer games like Silkroad online with slow pace. However, that game is doomed by RMT so I am hoping this POE becomes that game.

And no, we arent playing some "stealth" RPG like Evil Islands, where killing monsters from behind before they can react is intended by game design (+ requires good positioning and timings). Sure, even in "slow" ARPGs like Grim Dawn, killing enemies faster and running faster is often more efficient. But as long as you actually FIGHT with enemies, and they FIGHT with you (now just die like loot pinjatas), it's OK. IGN: MortalKombat
