Maybe this will matter a lot in the larger leagues but will only help for shorter races and events? Regardless, I think this recipe is awesome. It does, at the very least, give players a permanent non-rng method of leveling gems.
Regardless of the value of gcp or not, the price of 20% gems WILL go down. It may not be by a lot. But, for example, in anarchy they are going for about 8-10 gcp and I've seen people go down to 5 gcp for some crappier gems at 20%. If they hit 4 gcp, that would be the best thing ever imo. :D Only time will tell! @People saying that level 20 gems are so hard to get that this recipe won't change the price too much, you have to remember. The people setting the price will be the hundreds of no lifers that will be grinding as many gems as they possibly can to 20%. Remember, you can level 6 gems on an off hand at a time, and more if you squeeze in extra slots. This is a great way to make money and the people who grind the game nonstop are going to be the ones getting as many 20% gems as they can and selling them. takes years to go from lvl 18-19 i cant imagine getting from lvl 19-20.... The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG

This is a big help long term to self-found players - 20% quality on everything, for multiple chars, seemed way out of reach as it is largely random. At least now it is something we can work towards.

Wow amazing recipe. However it's such a stark contrast between 0-19% and 20% quality if any gem lv.20 + GCP = lv.1 20% gem.
Shouldn't quality play some role in upgrading to +20%? Like drop the level-req by 1 per 1% quality on the gem. For example you can get a lv.1 20% quality gem by selling... lv.19 1% Gem lv.18 2% Gem lv.17 3% Gem lv.16 4% Gem lv.15 5% Gem ... lv.3 17% Gem lv.2 18% Gem lv.1 19% Gem Otherwise it doesn't make sense for GCPs as an item mod if, regardless of quality, you have to take the gem to lv.20. |

when i found out about this I informed the people in trade chat of the news and got a bunch of dudes harassing me. to keep my mouth shut...
like i told them ill play the game my way you play it yours. greedy people that don't want us that doesn't make exalts to stay behind so they can feel important...
