What is a point of reflect damage?
" This Reflect damage is not hard to negate it is just an "ANTI FUN" mechanic as stated by this poster! But when people wake the hell up and realize most of POE is anti fun, they start leaving. |

"absolutely not.
Spoiler
you can't be serious... but let me try to explain...
one of the most annoying things in video games is that some developers have your mentality specifically in FPS and RTS genres but it's also common it many RPGS aswell (oblivion/skyrim). Seems to go like this: "shit man what should be do for higher difficulty levels.." "OH I KNOW, LETS RAISE THE ENEMIES HP AND DMG!!!!1" This is bad design and complete bullshit to the player. To properly make something more difficult, you make something more challenging while altering the scenario. And that's exactly what reflect does. One example that goes along with what i'm saying is Raids in WoW. In HC raids the bosses have new abilities and it changes the scenario. The player is forced to adapt to something new that's more challenging than normal. Dernière édition par Zerovirus27#1952, le 16 mai 2013 à 10:07:31

" No, that does AI or changes in game mechanics, but since none of developer bother with AI at all, the only way left is HP/damage Reflect damage is even more stupid than HP/damage increase, you just beat yourself |

" I just wanted to add that what you are saying is already in path of exile(monsters range from lvl1-79 increasing in hp/dmg each lvl), but reflect adds an extra layer of difficulty on top of normal scaling. Personally, i've never lost a charatcer to reflect. I always planned my builds with reflect in mind. I have lost a couple HC characters to lightning thorns after they made those changes a couple weeks ago, though. |

" That means none of them was really good! LOL BTW, WW Barbarian and Iron Maiden came into my mind. When somebody casted it when you started to roll - you are done. It was actually even kind of fun, because happened not too often Dernière édition par dima_dunedin#7869, le 16 mai 2013 à 10:18:05

"You're crazy bro for 1, AI is what makes enemies move, attack, cast spells. The developers have "bothered" with AI. 2, reflect is an addition to game's mechanics and it changes the way the player has to treat a specific situation. Path of exile is good because it's complex(more so than other games in recent years, atleast) Reflect is just one of the small things that create that overall complexity. " Reflect is stupid, it is a fucking APRG not world of warcraft GET THAT THROUGH YOUR SKULLS SHEEPS ARRPG FOCUS ON A LOW AMOUNT OF SKILLS and FARM the same CONTENT OVER AND OVER for fun. REFLECT REMOVES THE FUN FROM THE EQUATION - ANTI FUN - NOT FUN. |

" This is the hell of AI: "move to the player in the shortest (straight) way, attack" Will take around 10 minutes to programm I guess? I'm not complaining about AI in arpg, though they can greatly benefit from it. But shooters - it is sad to see all this linear "AAA blockbasters" with AI way behind HL of the year 1998 Dernière édition par dima_dunedin#7869, le 16 mai 2013 à 10:28:00

"Reflect makes the game more enjoyable to me. Get that through your skull, TheBuudah. If i wanted to play a braindead-designed-for-handicapped-children game i wouldn't be playing PoE. Maybe POE is just too difficult for you, have you tried Torch light 1/2 ? It's an action RPG and i hear it might be more to your level of difficulty preference. |
