But we can say such people aren't in a virtual lynch mob that wants the game to die so PoE 1 comes back to sole priority.
Come on, don't joke that everyone who criticizes the current state of POE2 wants to destroy this game.
Eh sure, I was in a rush to type so didn't put enough words to cover the full spectrum. On one extreme, you have players who like 0.2 just the way it is. On the other extreme, you have those who want to burn it all down. Most players are somewhere inbetween with exhibits like:
- is primarily interested in hearing rare currencies drop, in seeing good gear drop, in crafting good gear. Fun from loot, not from "chores". Thus cannot stand how getting the optimal drops in 0.2 means running around for ideal 3 tower overlaps while holding a bunch of rarity modded maps. Maybe they like the combat, maybe they don't, the drop situation dominates their displeasure.
- wants to get into the game, has not learnt how to deal with the zerg rush of 50 white mobs. Feels they have to turn to blaster meta builds, OP gear or whatever else to compensate for not knowing how to fight the horde.
- can't stand having to juggle so many active skills to do combat if not using blaster meta builds, does not find any joy in the complexity. Just wants to have simple buttons that give a good time, not the contraption that they find exhausting to engage with.
- wants to experiment a lot, can't because support gems are relatively scarce, full respec is prohibitive and they're not down to run the campaign again as they want to perfect one character instead of floating many alts
The sheer quantity of unsatisfied voices can make it difficult to notice the subtle differences in what people are unhappy about. Especially when the odd loud voice is yelling that the game should burn and be rebuilt as a PoE 1 clone; or the other side loudly yelling back without acknowledging the nuanced complaints.

Hey, let's try to keep it a bit more civil. I sense a bit of anger or hostility and I've been nothing but respectful to you. Ill go back to the same manner on which my first response to you was.
1. I never claimed that "The majority of players left a negative review" My claim was when people say that the Majority of players dislike the direction of the game or dislike the game in general (and variables of this statement) that this is NOT bored out by the data.
2. You are making a unidimensional argument without adding any nuance.
1) The majority of 0.2 reviews are negative (64%)- How many negative reviews were left in 0.2? What percent of the player base does that account for? What percent of the 64% changed their minds and are content with the game now and never changed their review?
2) The majority of players left (66%)- How many of those numbers came back? How many left cause they dislike the game compared to real-life situations?
3. Week 4 has a average daily player of approx 80k and that number is currently rising (in the last 3 days its starting to uptick). So we ask ourselves...why are the numbers starting to rise again? Is it because another game came out and people are getting bored with it and coming back to POE 2?
I can agree that some players are not enjoying themselves. I never disagreed. My only disagreement is stating that the "majority of players" are having a bad time. You can use the 64% of reviews but those reviews account for less than 15% of the current daily player base. which is not the majority but the minority. Also, during that time 11% of daily players left a positive review.

very well thought out and well put. I personally like the game minus the loot drops but welcome sensible critiques of the game.

I meeeaaaan...some interest groups pumping money into big video game companies to push propaganda is pretty well documented and self admitted at this point.
But realistically I really don't think this has anything to do with drop rates being low in poe 2. At least we can 100% give some credit to ggg for steering clear off that stuff. And so should we if we're talking poe, probably.
Quite frankly if we are going to be mad and bicker about thing I'm very happy if we do it about the amount of regal orbs we have instead [Removed by Support]. That would be pretty stupid.
I want more regal orbs though.
Also I've noticed the size of Atziri's four glorious tits has been considerably nerfed, I've seen it on the statues. Surely this is Klaus Schwab's doing and I strongly disaprove.
[Removed by Support] What are you talking about, I only asked for a tinfoil hat. Would you have one ?
EDIT : Funny that i get edited out, but the original is still there :D (cf bold underlined)

I quote you:
"The data is clear that less then 20% of the total players of Dawn of the hunt left a negative review. Ether or, however you slice it, it is NOT the majority of players currently playing."
This counter-argument implies that a statement, "The majority of players left a negative review", was made when it wasn't.
It's a small difference, but significant, between:
"the majority of players left a negative review"
and
"the majority of reviews left by players are negative"
"

Not factored into the data because it's pure speculation, for both sides of the argumentation.

The numbers went up in the last few days because of the weekend and will drop again with a high probability.

The claims still remain true:
1) 64% of the 0.2 reviews made are negative
2) The majority of ppl already left patch 0.2 , with 34% peak and 50% avg remaining

I actually do not know why people need to be all so "civil", yes it's conforming to rules, but i'd argue the rules in place are detrimental to the progression of this game.
People are simply angry, and if you don't want an angry mob, just make an announcement that issues are being addressed. It's really that simple.
I've seen 5 pages essays being written, but to what good? Did devs ever *ONCE* acknowledge and thank "civil" and "logical" and "well-documented" writings? Link me a single "Thank you for your detailed feedback, we will be taking notes from it". It's a complete waste of time.
Anger and emotions sends a clearer message
`Spent 2 mirrors on my build, but I'm only Level 98.` LOL
`From just quick sweep of your characters, toxic rain, golems .. sure, non meta... sure.` LOL
`What are divs?`

This guy has got a point.
Still better if we can be chill about a video game rather than insult each other over it. I'm sure we all have other forums for that.
But yeah strong backlash is probably the best way to make change happen let's be honest, I'm pretty sure people had that figured out thousands of years ago.
Good thing we're only complaining about a video game.
Also people are starting to take themselves too seriously over here, pretty sure it's not necessary to try and look like you are making an academic review to give your sentiment about a game.

I should have been more clear about my statement. My statement was in response to when people say "the majority of people are hating on POE 2" or something along those lines. FOr that I'll take ownership.
Yes, we can speculate and both sides can make arguments on that. We look at the data and determine what these things mean. Once again though, I don't think you've ever posted anything that got me colored shocked or seemed to come from a place of illogical emotional response. My original statement was more geared towards the doom and gloom people who don't really understand the data or how to parse through it. You clearly have come to your conclusion and even though I disagree with it. At least you are using data-driven arguments and not emotional responses.
Your last statement about the claims remain to be true I don't really have a problem with minus the second one. I'd have to look at it some more but I think the retention rate is in the high 40s to 50% which is not uncommon when a new game in the same genre comes out.
