GGG PLEASE remove or massively tone down XP loss. Ruining game for me.

" why are you asking stupid questions? ----- I agree to diminish or lose completely the xp loss, this should be fun to play. Most people play after work, to get relaxed not get frustrated more after a hard day. Did my own build with nothing from trade, and died 450 times in total on my monk. More than half on end game where I lost xp. Some of my friends quit the game because of this. I don't have much experience with POE 1 and it was hard to keep a balance. It's enough we lose the waystone, waystone modifiers, exated paid for the waystone (when you die to much the waystone you have are not enough and you need to buy from trade) etc.. Make this game fun to play! |

" It's not a stupid question. Level 100 gives you a small amount of power boost compared to 90. And other death penalties are way worse. Losing map extra content, modifiers and any loot on the ground are actually worse than XP penalty. And yet people cry about XP the most. So irrational. " Well, you die to thing that you can't react to, in place you can't avoid, from enemies that you don't know. For me, it just sounds like you struggle with the content, the positioning, the reflexes, and the knowledge the game is expecting of you to own at this point. It's not because you copied the build and bought the gear to have -everything- like X streamer that you can also pull off what they do. You are pushing the game to its limit by playing the end of the endgame and thinking you'd thrive there while you may not have what it takes to actually deal with it. It's like if you were going to a Chess tournament but you never actually played one game against a real player, and still expecting to finish on the podium. |

" Great that you don't mind and still enjoy it. Some people don't. |

" I love the elitist condescending attitude that the players are the problem, when the players who have dropped the game outnumber the players like you who have stayed, by more than 4-to-1. That's surely a recipe for continuing success. By the way (regarding the OP thread), I was enjoying the game until I realized that my progress was plateauing due to XP loss. That was the moment I started to want to just play other games. On death effects are also frustrating because they pidgeonholed me into just using one ranged attack to avoid them (killing the diverse attack loop I loved using, that existed during the campaign). But the XP loss is the biggest reason that I've started playing other games again - otherwise this would still be my every day game. Dernière édition par SpankyKong#9805, le 6 févr. 2025 11:38:05

" But you are complaining about the progress of the endgame which is designed for the elite ; and call people pointing it out elitists. At no point was PoE2 end of the endgame sold as accessible by everyone without a sweat and in no time. There is a player agency : you want to play the game at your level, you can, and it's going to be worth it because you will be able to play it, to have fun, to experiment, and to progress. You can choose the maps, the levels, the modifiers, the additionnal events. But you want to play T25+++ and don't understand why it's punishing you and asking of you to have formula 1 pilot's reflexes. Well, that's because it's designed for formula 1 pilots. It's pretty simple. If you feel like your porgress is hindered, that's because progress at some point becomes ever more exponential due do XP and gear optimisations, and it will give relative results for each and everyone. You want to spend 100h in PoE2 ? You will have progress reflecting it, multiplied (positively or negatively) by your skill level. You want to spend 1.000h in PoE2 ? You will have progress reflecting that. What you are complaining about here is to not be able to have the same progress and the same medal as someone playing 10x more and 10x better than you. We all completed the game. We killed Doryani Cruel. That was the expected outcome of playing PoE2 as a somehow dedicated player. We are not all completing the endgame. We don't all kill the Pinnacle boss. That's elite content for elite players, and it's not expected of casuals to reach it and clean it. |

My witch is 95 at this level most level 15 maps give less then a % even with full clear and come with a 10% penalty on any death (bad mech , bad play , offscreen or the dreaded on death. I know of course you're supposed to be doing 16+ but with RNG Vaals and with chunks of the atlas not being corrupted or irradiated , you end up doing 15's most of the time . She has 18k ES w/Grim Feast , 2000 life and using ,Mind Over Matter, still earlier today after 1 shotting both Augury bosses and waiting to loot still got 1 shotted to an ondeath/afterdeath explosion. I immediately closed the game , my 95 XP reset to 0 and time wasted. For what ? This game has no Competitive Ranking or Ladder system , we all play at our own pace , own skill levels and yet you are punished with map loss, whatever goodies map had gone and xp loss. This is called POE 2 yet it is nothing more then a more punishing less fun POE1. Anyways, just my opinion thought on the matter. I am not quitting yet, just really wondering why does this mechanic still exist.

" Because its there. What kind of dumb question is that? |

" Could say the same the other way around "I love the noobs attitude demanding the game to change instead of improving", anyway. The player count is literally normal at this point. Proof? Every single league in the past 10 years (2 months in) while the game has less content to even do in the first place. |
