POE is the most hardcore death penalty for "softcore" players in any ARPG to date... and the most lenient "hardcore" death penalty in any ARPG to date.

Like... period. Start listing them out bud. List out the current death penalties and compare.

Softcore death at level 75+ is literally an hour of your time gone poof. Softcore death in D3 is like 5k gold. That's like killing 2 mobs.

i remember in Tibia in the late 90s-early 00s, the exp loss was 10% of your total exp (which meant you could delevel, alot) death at a high lvl there could very well mean 48 hours of constant grind out the window. still i cant remember i single qq post about the death penalty back then, it was the way it was and people accepted it, because the game was designed that way

today people are used to the no risk approach games have, checkpoints around every corner, no noticable penalty on death etc. kids need to realize that there are other ways to do it than how its done in todays average shit game

I think it would be nice to have little less XP loss then 15% just because I only normally get to play the game maybe a couple hours a day and I die quite often because of desync, so it does suck for us people that don't have much time to play. I only enjoy playing melee so I die much more often, but that was my choice.

I don't see the XP percentage changing and don't really care if it changes. Death will probably get easier to avoid as a melee as more content and changes get released... I hope

Can't wait for those new melee support gems next week :)

GGG just needs to make a new mode.

Wimpcore

In this mode, nothing will stand in your way, there will be no challenges, you don't lose xp when you die.

In fact, you can't die!

Map/currency items are increased by over 9000%.


Leveling up happens whenever you want, just by hitting the + skill button!

( For cheaters and people who like to feel like gods in games )


Ability to create any item/currency in the game.

Ability to kill anything instantly.

Ability to teleport to areas beyond waypoint restrictions.

Ability to modify ones level / stats to anything that one desires.

Don't these ideas sound like so much fun?

GGG should just give in to the SOFTcore people. Any sense of loss for death won't teach them to not die, remember, its SOFTcore.

You can't compare HC to SC , if we die, we die, desync or not, only real men / women can accept such consequences, not children!
