XP loss makes me want to stop playing.

To be fair, there should be some sort of way where you could hover your mouse over the enemy to know if they have reflect or not.

Exact same feeling I had when I first died in cruel. My main character Is a melee shadow. 7.5% loss in Cruel, 15% loss in Merciless? Somebody over there must be on crack. I switched to a ranged alt just to enjoy this game again. You either have to do that or resort to ranged abilities like totems (totem skeletons, etc.) just to survive. XP loss on death is a novel idea, and I like how it forces you to reevaluate tactics, but it is just too high and frustrating, especially for default.

This game FORCES YOU TO NOT GO GLASS CANNON.

Sooner people realise this the better.

The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG
XP Loss in SC is the penalty for making glass cannon builds... if you make a character that is more defensive you'll die less (or if your equipment is poor, then I suggest you make a couple more characters to gather up more wealth and drops, and farm more with high iir/iiq)

Yeah meaning tanks have it 5x easier than everyone else.

It's just a stupid way to go about punishing people for dying, there is a reason no other game dare use this method as it causes a lot of people to stop playing characters at a certain point and pushes them away from playing the game.

I agree in punishment but a person can loose a full xp bar in 2 minutes and that is just over the top.

Why do we need to never ever die if it's not hardcore? Why shouldn't I challenge my self and for fun play solo for some thing different?

Oh wait no I should be massively punished and forced to play it safe, yeah because that's more fun.

You shouldn't loose more than one xp bar for dying.
If you hit Alt+F4 faster you wouldn't have died. Learn2FuckinHARDCORE!

Or, it motivates them to adapt their tactics and / or rebuild their character into something that can beat the game, which is called a "challenge."

- Unless something has changed, Diablo 2 assesses 5 and 10 percent penalties (plus gold loss) for dying in NM and Hell difficulties, so the model is not unique to PoE and clearly works.

Now, get back in there and show those nasty reflect-o-mobs how we do things downtown.
