Why is it so hard to 6 link? Why is the probability so low?

You can't possibly say that ALL builds work with 5l. You could claim that only the season "Viable" builds work with 5L and those that don't are "non-Viable", but that is really just putting some arbitrary label on things based on what you personally feel. " again, good points, but that is outside the game (mostly). You do that using trading, not using game mechanics. My "beef" here is, why can't we use game mechanics? why "must" we trade? I'm not bitching "meehhh I wan't a 6L armor", I know how to get one and I have a few. It's Why do I need to do this crazy stuff? Why drop non-linked armors at all if they are just junk and nobody is going to try to link them? (99.99% of the time) Trading will always exist in this kind of games, but the "game design" version SHOULD be the most fun. |

It's interesting to see different people's opinions on the thread.
The player's that log lots and lots of hours or otherwise have a lot of currency items seem to be. "It's fine, just keep farming" Players more like me/that play somewhat less hours are not too happy about it. (for reference, according to steam stats, I should have played some 100-150+ hours per league) And when I see people talking about 20-30ex I'm like "what??" I think I maybe get some 3-5 ex per league, And not nearly enough fusings for to manually 6L. If it's balanced, then it is balanced for ppl that play 50+hrs per month, that's around 2+hrs per day, every day. Not sure how many working/studying ppl can pull that off. |

Getting end game gear is more accessible than ever before. But you can't get it without some time investment. That's the kind of game this is. People that have very little time to play and still want to tackle end game bosses should strongly consider playing in Standard. Time doesn't matter there. |

" That puts me and a lot of people out of the new and exciting content of seasons. That's what makes players pick up the game again. That puts seasons only accessible to the most extreme players, resulting in a smaller community, slower or no development. Again, I'm not talking about insane items here, I'm talking about something every player needs, to make a 5-6 linked skill. I honestly like POE and its values, that's would like to see it improving, I know that by far this is not the only issue with the game, but to me is the most frustrating one. Why have a "thing" if you are not meant to use the "thing". If using the "thing" just brings frustration and it's the least effective way to get the "thing" in a game about optimizing efficiency. |

" + X To dmg is "more damage" + X To crit watever is "more damage" + X to stat is more damage/defence These are all percentage increases as you say, you can find these on the items rolled stats. An extra linked socket is a Yes/No. Yes you can have leech Yes you can have Knockback Yes you can have Splash Damage Yes you can have whatever /\ These are not the same as just a stat percentage increase. It should be a somewhat difficult thing to achieve. My two main endgame goals are always to 6-link and get 21/20. After that it's all just gravy. It certainly takes resources to make it happen, but then wtf else are you going to leverage your time towards?

" That's exactly my point. There are a few build-enabling skills, which require usually 4 links at the very most. Everything else is just bonus damage or utility. Double Strike + Melee Splash + Ancestrall Call (+ damage) Attack + cast on crit + spell (+ damage/more spells) Channeling skill + CwC + spell (+ damage) Good 6 linked item is a long term goal for most people. Definitely a luxury, not a necessity. |

" Says the guy full of 6 links gear. I always love to see the mental gymnastics you people do to defend this horrible 6 link RNG... If it's not required, then why it's so hard to get? Ohhhh, it's because it gives you something to chase after... The only thing people actually cares to chase for in this game, is to reach endgame and level 100.
