Chaos recipe nerf only fixed a symptom
" Actually how this game is designed that's completely false. While gear isn't going anywhere, if they added 2-3 zeros to all the orb drop rates, in a matter of a month or two there would be a serious drought because of maps. Gotta figure alchs, chisels and chaos will burn quick. People do regal/exalt for the highest maps. This leaves gcps and divines. So in theory it could be fixed but oh boy would people be annoyed. " This is pretty much it in a nuttshell. I'm one of those people that refused to buy something that "could be" an amazing gear item (again.) A month or so back I bought a Voidhome that was G,RRR-L for 1GCP (a steal really) but then ended up tossing in 30 Fusings just to get a simple 4link for the RRRG-L, I had essentially put in an Exalted Orb's worth into it..pretty lame considering the ridiculous penalty the item has. Now when I upgrade gear, I browse the Forums and place bids on an item that already has the stats/sockets/links I need because the RNG in this game is horrid. Side note: It took me 45 Chromatics just to get 2 Red Sockets in a 4 socket Bramblejack. >all of my rage. Hail Thor-show thy might, Let thunder roar and lightning strike! Undon3 is right on.
No proper resource sinks (you could see it coming a mile away on this one, not sure what Chris & company are smoking but I'd like some) + Hardcore fuck-you-in-the-ass RNG on crafting which becomes very unrewarding. => Everyone hoards and tries to maximize efficiency, shit builds up, economy becomes a joke. But it's been that way structurally, from the beginning and by design. Increased numbers in OB just pushed that reality to appear clearly now. One reason I was bitching about maps is maps are the only "worthwhile" resource sink. If you don't have maps to run, what the hell do you do with your stuff? Just sit there and wait for the right item to show in Trade chat while you pile stuff on. Path of PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW Dernière édition par Noobshock#1666, le 9 mars 2013 à 07:55:33

Just like Noobshock, I dont think economy exist in a game where gears dont go away. If you want a game with a good economy, you would have played eve online. Everything lost on consensual pvp death + quick to refarm gears => risky and exciting pvp and healthy pvp/pve rotation but nothing overly tedious.
But it's not too bad, still beta. All of your hard earned gears would turn into vendor trash when act 4 come along. Another cycle of e-pen polishing will come about. Please pardon my bad english Dernière édition par rephikul#3337, le 9 mars 2013 à 08:00:10

Or, people accumulate so much, that prices on currency fall, and people are willing to craft again.

" You mean like how people are doing the math on whether or not it's cost effective to try and chance a lioneyes/kaoms or just save up to buy one? You guys have a very short sighted view of the economy. Like any economy it will work in waves. For the next week or two we will have a flood of chaos orbs, as people sink them into maps and crafting gear (do you think people are buying lvl 79 gear as trophies?) chaos orbs will go away and then stabilize again. All of this economy talk has nothing to do with the issue at hand though as chaos orb go back to normal maps will not become cheaper to roll. Finished 17th in Rampage - Peaked at 11th

I'm sure its been said a thousand times already but the only thing I can think of when it comes to gcps is to make them increase quality by 5%
I think all gcps would dry up quick that way and get them put of the market. I'm not an economist so I don't know if that's good or bad. But on topic I need chance orbs to try and get a lioneyes because its impossible for me to save up 30 exalts when I have one I got from trading some gcps so the new recipe is kinda good for me. " That's the only reason why I respecced Axes on my Mara. I got a High-End Kaom's Primacy for just under an Exalted, whereas the shittiest of shitty Marohi Erqis are selling for a 10Exaulted Minimum. This game's RNG favours certain specs wholeheartedly. Hail Thor-show thy might, Let thunder roar and lightning strike! Hurl thy hammer into the fray, And let thine enemies know fear this day!

Yeah some items are stupid rare , and over valued.
making it unreasonable for anyone but the most dedicated players to farm. Rarity is good to an extent. But the most effective way to get an item should NOT be chancing it. that is just stupid. It is kinda why i stopped playing. unless you are one of those fellas who as the time / and patience to, 1 get a super gear out character 2 get 5 other characters to end game on 5 other accounts you will never have a a viable amount of end game currency. for most people the currency barrier is around 2 -3 exalted. the rest get their fortunes by getting stupidly lucky with these drops. all you need is to win an event , or get one of those exceedingly rare uniques to drop and you now have made a years worth of money. ive been farming and farming , and prior to using the chaos recipe i had maybe 2 exalted, but you could have 100 uniques drop, if it aint the exact right unique .. they might as well be vendor trash. " IIRC, the mirror drop rate was the other way around- during CB the dev said about 3 mirrors dropped per day. More players in OB would only increase those numbers. To the poster who mentioned legacy league - Such things are only temporary fixes and they compound the problem for players who have invested a large amount of time without abusing the games mechanics. As long as there are any kind of game rules, there will be a way to abuse those rules. Its just a matter of someone figuring out how. IMO - one thing that might help is changing the way the game factors in the additional players. If the charcters are dead - no added bonus for drops for those characters. If the character has spent a certain amount of time basically doing nothing - then no bonus for drops for those characters. It would have to be carefully worked out, so that players trying to attack and trying to recoup enough life or mana to get back into the fray aren't penalized. They would have to make sure non-playing characters can't just become Ancestral Bond totem casters, cast their two totems and go stand in the corner and get the bonus as well, while not penalizing active players who do use totems. A players /6 type command would only jack prices up in the overall economy, devaluing orbs even more (though it would level the field for players without the resources to multibox). Factoring in the level differences (above and below) between party members themselves, and between them and the monsters they are killing would help balance it for low and mid levels. If a player is powerful enough to easily solo high level maps with 5 other high level multiboxed characters, then they could still generate a lot of items, but then why shouldn't they?
