Chaos recipe nerf only fixed a symptom
" You just dont want to understand it. Neither multiclienting, nor the chaos recipe, nor anything of what you said is the core of the problem, these are only symptoms, you are still trying to fix symptoms. If you somehow were able to fix multiclienting, then we are back to farming 7 hours in order to be able to do a high level map, which takes 10 minutes to clear. Since the actual problem still has not been fixed, a new symptom will arise, and this time the worst of all: botting. They will just run bots to do the chaos farming for them, that way they will be able to do high level maps exclusively without having to do lower level content at all (which is how it should be in the first place). I am also quite sure that some people already do this, but i cant prove anything, so take that with a grain of salt. You have to give the solo player a way to meet his currency usage on high level maps, if you dont, he will do stuff like multiclienting (abusing chaos recipe), but if you just fix the symptoms instead of the problem, they will create new ways to get that currency, and the last step in that chain is botting, and believe me, you dont want that. Stop trying to fix symptoms, it doesnt fix anything. Dernière édition par gh0un#3019, le 12 mars 2013 à 06:55:16

I still like the idea of maps being reusable but with a lower droprate, and an xp modifier depending on how hard you make it.

" Well here are my thoughts on fixing the issue with maps: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/231674 Perhaps you could drop into that thread and give your thoughts on the proposed ideas. " Let's take that same idea and use it on something different. How much currency do you need in order to be able to use boots? None. Now - to get the perfect boots with the sockets, links and mods you want may take some currency, but the game doesn't owe you "enough" currency to make those boots. There seems to be an underlying assumption that a map has to have good mods in order to get more maps. While quantity boosters (party size, character stats, map stats, map size) will boost the number of drops, you don't have to have all of them perfect in order to sustain map runs. Now, I understand players may *want* to always get high level maps, but that is no more "deserved" than wanting to get lots of rares and uniques. I do agree it would be beneficial to have more maps dropping in non-map areas -perhaps convert one out of 10 chisel drops to a map. Maybe the a partial solution for people wanting to sustain map runs would be a new currency type - let's call it a Compass, that is as rare to chisels as chaos drops are to alchemist drops. The Compass would add add a % to the map(same way chisel works 1-5%) but instead of quality and quantity, it would add % overall chance for maps to drop, and a % for boss (yellow or unique) mobs to drop maps. Make the compass a high level (62? 63?) item so that players farming the item must do so in higher level areas to obtain. "The only legitimate use of a computer is to play games." - Eugene Jarvis

" Judging from your post you have zero maps above lvl 72, i know that because you dont have a clue what you are talking about. Even with perfect mods, i dont manage to get a significant amount of level 73+ maps, and i did about 300 maps in total in OB. I am doing maps with 120%+ quantity, or maps with 80%+ and additional loot increasing mods like champions/hordes/labyrinthine, and then i get 4 maps out of that map that are all below level 70. Show me how you are ever going to get a significant amount of higher level maps with non perfect mods. I gain 1% experience when i do a level 70 map, so take your "you dont deserve higher level maps if you put in the currency" statement and put it somewhere i cant see it, otherwise i might shove it down your throat. If i put in 5-10 chaos per map, i want to have a signficantly high chance to get higher level maps, so far it doesnt even come remotely close to that. If i pay an exalted, i can buy awesome gear with that, including your imaginary boots. If i put in an exalted into maps, i dont get shit out of it, but the game is forcing you to keep doing that. The only thing that keeps me from playing right now is the abundance of higher level maps, no matter what i do, i just dont manage to get higher in map level. " Please stop mixing content with gear. GGG itemised the endgame, but I'm not 1% convinced that it is a good decision in the current form. " Exactly this. placeholder for creative sig Dernière édition par Undon3#5633, le 12 mars 2013 à 15:51:36

Maybe the game forcing players to do things they normally wouldn't is a good thing... in their current form, endgames maps are a very effective currency sink, keeping currency inflation down and thus keeping the economy more stable longer. Imagine if every Chaos and Alch ever spent on maps was reinserted into the current economy from whence they came... is that really what you want? You might think you'd be richer, but the inflation on those currencies would make you just about as poor/rich as you are now.
There's also the variety perspective. Even a map endgame gets repetitious if you aren't running rare maps pretty consistently. Ensuring that rare maps are what gets played make the content as varied as possible. The only real problem with endgame maps is that rare maps aren't rewarded well enough. Making map affixes "more" instead of "increased" would allow them to stack better. Other than that, I think it's important to not buff white maps at all (and blues only minimally), because if it became effective to chain those we'd lose an important item sink.
