Take 10000 random PoE players and you likely end up with around 100 players who even complete the story mode. Numbers go even lower when we're talking about red maps.

People who reach continuous red maps should be considered 'elite 1%' (the actual percentage is like 0.001% though), so it's not outlandish to ask for the part of the game only the elite reaches to have the difficulty level raised accordingly.

Out of people who run red maps all day, what's the percentage that isn't affected by 8 mod maps? Over 50%, easily. Before Betrayal, I was doing that with a 4k hp character. After a point, 90% of the map mods are just free IIQ and nothing else.
One difficulty factor for new players, is amount of information. Limited playtime doesn't make the game necessarily harder if you don't play competitively. A "simpler" class/gear system could possibly give more depth to the game, make choices more meaningful and at the same time help new players.

This was the problem many players faced with Betrayal, too. Their builds were ridden with holes and the league feature for once punished those players for that. Says a lot when league content is the only thing in the entire game that players hit a brick wall with...

Agreed, it's just stupid.
Why dont just add "30% more damage per support gem" to all active gems, then? Instead of adding "more damage" to EVERY support gem in the game...
Cause players worry only about "more damage", they can throw 5 random support gems and git gud.

Life leech and Mana leech support stayed the same though, like what the hell ? Where is the consistency ? What the flying fuck is this ?

You think 4.0 will get better? they don t even make an effort to balance shit anymore, give insane dps multiplier few patches away from 4.0.

4.0 won t ever reduce power creep, i can t see them giving players all those shit and suddenly nerfing it.
