Theyre not hyping the beta, theyre hyping act 4. The beta is just between now and the release of act 4 and it would happen whether we know about it or not, so i dont get this antagonism towards the beta at all.

It is like hey lets all take a bus trip to Florida. Awesome Woo Hoo So much fun! Bus breaks down on the way. A limo drives by and is able to pick 10 people to go to Florida. Rest sit on the bus waiting for another car to come along. Hey at least we have a video on the bus about tourist attractions in Florida.
Edit: I don't see how they aren't hyping the beta when the countdown stops when the beta starts

They are hyping act 4 for a while now unless you havent been paying attention.
You get to play act 4 once its out like everyone else and keep your chars, beta players dont get to keep the test chars at all.

You gotta be kidding, beta countdown is for the day the beta starts and its part of act 4 hype and after the beta started im sure we get more act 4 info and a new countdown at some point.
