this game needs more players, if that means they have to hype it up by having streamers first in act4 and doing beta key giveaways so be it.
nobody wants to be left out but this game needs more hype before they start handing out beta keys to everyone. |

Streamers aren't exactly numerous enough for them to really have an impact on the amount of beta key given away to regular players anyway.
Besides, giving them keys is a huge amount of free advertisement for them, would be rather foolish to pass on it. Specially since i feel GGG should actually be a bit more aggressive with their marketing, as the game in the grand scheme of things is still rather unknown. Plenty of good games died from poor advertisement efforts, latest example i can think of is Bloodline Champions. |

if you are really going to have a "small" number of people.. don't allow streaming.. have a really strict NDA.. if I don't get into the beta, I don't want everything spoiled before I can play it myself..

So a potential new player catches a streamer playing act 4 closed beta and asks "wow cool game is it free to play?". The streamer answers "yeah but you can't play right now, try coming back in 2-3 months when it's out of closed beta. I can play because I'm a streamer and get special treatment.".
How on earth is that "promoting the game"? If anything it will drive new people away. |
