Walking > knowing > having no idea that there's even a path, which is what you'd get if nobody streamed the beta

There is a giant clock which tells me there is a path. For me personally I am not going to watch streams of the beta because I want to experience it for myself and actually play not watch. I of course see the appeal of watching a stream of it.

Which is fine, but are you a tester? Because that is what closed beta implies, lots of testing, feedback, and bug fixes.
People having fun is not a priority of beta. Testing and fixing bugs is a priority in beta. This way, the public can get a good release of the game.

I cannot agree with anyone that believes beta should be given out equally for everyone. There should most definitely be some players that should get priority access.
What you are saying is just stupid and will ultimately lead poor feedback. The reasoning is of course, the public won't test it as well as the more competitive players.
And poor feedback means a worse game overall.

why not? They stream game so:
- more ppl can learn wht is in beta
- it is harder to them to find broken mechanics and keep them secret until full relase

I admit, some of the streamers which get to end game (Uber Atziri) and have a big following and try out a lot of stuff are useful, but the more casual ones aren't. Sorry Ziggy. It doesn't matter how many viewers you have, if you're only doing the basics well.. that's what all the other testers will be doing.

There's no way to tell who's more worthy for testing than others. Some people might not speak to anyone IG or post anything on the forum currently but if they got in they might report 10x the amount others do. Random seems like the best choice.

They can't really prioritize supporters either, because that would basically be selling CBT Access.

Anyways - this is all off topic, my apologies for the disruption.

ONTOPIC - As I have said in a couple of other threads, the priority needs to be "contributors" - i.e. people who will be able to contribute to the improvement and refinement of the beta before it goes to release. Streamers are a way of allowing thousands of people into the beta without the need to give each of them a key, so they are a pretty easy tick box.

For the rest, I would be trolling through the feedback/bug forums looking for people who have made significant contributions regarding builds, skills, balance and other things impacting or affecting gameplay. Oh, and include players with an esoteric mindset who are prone to breaking shit.

Unfortunately, I don't qualify in any of those categories - but fuck it, I'll just have to learn to watch Twitch while I grind in Standard.

I hope streamers get priority over the normal player base. I feel like most ppl just want in the cbt to get an early start at playing act 4. Most steamers are fairly informative about the games they are playing, that leads me to believe they care enough about the state of the game to report bugs to enhance the game on release. As for a NDA I hope there is none cause I want to watch ppl play the beta so I will have a general idea on what to expect when act 4 goes live.
