Aegis Aurora will not turn legacy, dont be fooled

I am not sure what you think is a small investment, but my build takes almost all the block nodes available (except for 2 that I am still on my way to), and I have still not maxed my block chance. I see spending ~25 points to get close to max block chance a pretty big spend, especially if you consider that you only get to spend ~8-12 points offensively because of this.

I am taking all the node available for block, there isnt really a bigger sacrifice to make without equipping many uniques which I dont think is something the devs want to force you to wear.

I was interested to hear that interview just in case block might be nerfed, and it didnt seem that way to me. It seemed much more likely that they would change aegis rather than nerf passive block chance based on what I heard.

EDIT: If you want to know, my block chance is 65% (could be 69% in 4 levels). I use a 32% block chance rare shield. Aegis block chance is <32% so it forces you to wear multiple uniques if you want to get max, which is why I say the tree is not the problem, its the # of uniques that sync with aegis. e.g helm giving insane block chance that outclasses all nodes on the tree.

Starting at 36:40 is where Chris talks about AA. He doesn't say it wont be nerfed but he says if a supporter really wants a mod to be in the game they will accommodate them.

You've misunderstood.
40% block chance is 40%, so there's no 10% bonus from CoP.

And even if you had 40% with Aegis and 50% with CoP, Aegis is still better by far.
That 3% leech can be obtained elsewhere, while ES replenishment on block can't.
And that 3% leech is nothing compared to that ES replenishment, I can provide practical examples if you want, but I really don't think it's necessary.
You're saying CoP was better, and I completely don't believe you on that.

Aegis might not be an instant win as soon as you equip it, but it's an instant win compared to any shield in game, by far.

EDIT: Of course, after you can equip the Aegis...

Well I hope that GGG agrees that it is Aegis. I'll be good to go next league.

As long as the current BoR and the current tree exist, block will be powerful enough to survive everything but the most powerful boss hits in the game. And even then you won't die most of the time, especially when you have over 7000 life.

Nerfing Aegis will just take away the ability to survive smaller hits easily, something which block builds can already do. The issue is when you don't block a huge hit. In that case Aegis won't help, and that's usually when you die. Having a large life roll on a shield is in that case a very good thing.

Well sure, they may very well keep the mod but change the %.
