does GGG even ban RMTers

Dafuq happened here?

Someone claims... to continue progressing at end game without an obscene amount of time which few have, you are just about forced to interact with others, the point being, it is one way that RMT would affect people.

Whether there is truth in the 'RMT affecting' point, is irrelevant, the important part is 'forced to interact'.

Someone else calls BS on the 'forced to interact' part, and cite HC self found players at end game.

First person points out the caveat in the original claim, 'obscene hours'.

Then someone else comes in and claims BS, citing all the exalts they have made interacting with other people.

Like, WTF?

That was my point. Yeah, like, WTF? Lol.

BTW I'm not being judgemental about if interacting (or what grade of interaction you want to enforce) is good or bad for the game (I don't like the trading game either believe me, but I don't have 5k hours to devote to the game, neither I would if I had them, to get anywhere), but lessening the gap you would make RMT matter much less than now (like, for example, D2 was). But when you start interacting with others you are essentially being affected by RMT, either if they agree or not.

Trading is optional is a true statement, but this is like saying that you can try to beat the game in blues (which was other point), and is not a pertinent argument. Also saying there is no content past lvl 78 is an extremely dumb statement, I have never done a fun character that was even close to complete at lvl 78 (never below 80).

The fixing IMO has to start with the implementation of a real crafting system (which should NEVER yield BiS items btw), and the complete removal of such things as eternal and mirror orbs. Then if you are going to build your game around an economy you may as well try to achieve some stability implementing proper sinks and faucets. If you can't do this you should never base your game around exchange and a live economy because it will be bad (and this concept "online ARPG" designers can't grasp), recurring to half-assed solutions (rerolling leagues) is not a fix to this.

Yeah, well RMT affects us all. No matter what.
It's as simple as..
When nothing is bound in an on line game, every item that any person has is fluid.
I played 100% self found, never traded, I played solo with the odd very rare exception.
But at any point, my account could be compromised and everything gone. The more RMT there is in the game, the more demand, the more supply is required and everyone is potential fodder for that supply.

I'd willingly have every item that ever dropped to me be bound (to the account), but GGG would never do that, because it isn't fun, they say.
Casually casual.

See, those are the players I refer to. Ignorant and blaming RMT when others are not.

Even in CB when I was at rank5 and later 4 after Prozons Rip most of the time I never ever found stuff worth an exalted in 1h.
Yes I had dual Andvarius Rarity and Quantity gems. Drops were better back then.
Receipes more powerful.
I could say stuff worth 1 exalt a day or in 2 days at best but not per hour.

So you wanna claim with nerfed droprates, nerfed chances to chance uniques, nerfed receipes you find an exalt per hour?

Sure prices would be different because I had some rares which would now sell for like 500 exalts.

I even ran out of idscrolls several times.

So it would seem, based on how many obvious RMTers are around nowadays, especially in the shadow forums, that GGG clearly does not give a fuck about the experience of the average player.

Some guy hoarding mirrors and trying to double the price all because of a merge? Fucking LOL.

Im glad I left before this bullshit happened. At this point, had I kept farming at the same rate I was, I would ALMOST be able to afford my mirrored copy of that insane harbinger bow, but it wouldnt matter because some scumbag decides he wants to try to control the market. Basically my time spent would have been instantly devalued by 50%.

Woo! Dodged a rage inducing bullet for sure by leaving this fucking trade simulator.

I hope all you wanna be economists enjoy flipping items amongst your selves because based on what im seeing most of your regular players are gone and you guys are almost the only ones left.

Wont be long now.

Well, thats it from me. I will leave these forums to the white knights once again. Im gonna go play Battlefield 4 and ARMA 3, games that reward skill and effort while not removing progress upon death.

Enjoy your RMT infested trade sim while you guys can, because it will all be over soon.

too bad ggg throws the concept of "neighbourhood watch" completely out the window with that stance on name-and-shame

I completely agree with their name and shame policy. A week ago, one dude posted on my shop thread that I was a botter just because I didn't answer him. I had boots with a clearly set buy out of 30 chaos and he was spamming me with 10c offers while I was in a map, so I guess I just put him on my ignore list. As I was not answering, he just came to the conclusion I was botting (with a level 90+ Templar in Nemesis and in 75+ maps sure, good luck with that). I asked support to remove his post because of their name and shame policy, and it was done under 30 minutes.
IGN : @Morgoth
Morgoth botting confirmed ... anyway, they need to change something about the name / shame policy. Because what other way is there to let the community know WHO is a scammer and WHO is a RMTer... We need to know as it influences our decisions a lot.
I dunno about other people but I try to avoid trading with people of which I know that they RMTed in the past. People who bought into this game don't deserve anything ... from me atleast.

I know i said I was done posting but what the hell, the REAL reason they dont want to allow the community to police itself is because that would make visible all of the RMT that goes on in this game, therefore discouraging new players from playing and ultimately giving money. It has nothing to do with potential damage done to innocents as is evident from there having once been a name and shame board.

But like many other posts saying something negative this will surely be censored.

Well ... What's worse ... loosing all the BASE players because they begin to see what's going on, or discourage new players to play the game.

This is a question GGG has to ask themselves. I did alrdy quit playing and I know many others have quit aswell because of RMT and scamming. I'm just lurking in these forums out of boredom at work ...
Well ... we clearly have some (actually quite a lot of) witches around here and I would not say that it's wrong to hunt them.
