Is PoE Pay to win?
" The CORE gameplay of diablo 3 is beyond repair. The game has no soul. Its a P2W kids game designed for consoles.... There is no character building, there is no theorycrafting, there is no depth whatsoever. Its a good action game and would have made an AWESOME addition to the next chapter in the gauntlet series because there sure as hell isnt any RPG to be found anywhere.... Edit..To me , any game that offers GEAR for real money to help you win the game is a P2W. I know its not needed to win, but its still there as an option, and when its right there,in your face on the title screen with a big shiney button, most ppl will click on it. " Do you have a counterpoint, sweetheart, or just your cute remarks? I forget that this place is full of elitists/purists who think this game is in someway superior, as if liking an ARPG is mutually exclusive. God forbid one have fun playing multiple games. |

" No soul? Gameplay beyond repair? Hyperbolic, vitriolic, nonsense. You personally (as well as the vast majority of people here, I'd gather) don't have to like it, but there's a reason the game is still very active. Also, it wasn't designed for consoles (have you played it on both? What mechanics lead you to believe they were designed with a console in mind?) There's a fuck-ton of theorycrafting that went into creating builds like Critical Mass and Overawe. Not an RPG? How do you figure? By even its most basic definition, The Legend of Zelda is an RPG. What would I know though? I've only been playing role playing games since tabletop D&D. |

We are offtopic here, and i really dont want to argue , But i also played D@D at school,20 years ago..
Seems we would be around the same age, and id say we have played alot of games in that time. Baldurs gate, eotb, wizardry, d2, might and magic etc..anything with CHOICES is a RPG. What choices does d3 have. Sorry, i may have been a bit harsh. D3 does have the bare minimum choices so i guess it is very rpglite. 90% action, 10% rpg... Its just not a game designed around thinking. And mindless gameplay is just boring for me. this is just my POV. Everyones different.. And BTW, the very first legend of zelda on the nintendo was a pretty hardcore rpg. 10x more thought needed then diablo 3. No kid in this generation would last 4 hours on it... " He has a point. Its got nothing going for it. They have completely redesigned the games items thiking this is a fruitful endeavor. Its not. Alot of the current Beta testers are still dissapointed in the lack of game content and depth. You simply play for a few hours, maybe a few days, and your effectively done. I myself am included. I was sent an invite to the closed beta and I thought I would try to enjoy the game again, but after about 2 hours on the crusader, I noticed one thing lacking into this game. Customization. There is no real character progress, only gearing progress. You are on a track to unlock whatever skill is designated for whatever level and you have no choice in the matter. You get whatever stat points and skills the game shoves down your throat and just have to simply accept it. There is no improving these skills, no improving your character through any means other than gear. The game itself is nothing. It lost alot of what made D2 truly have replayability and what makes PoE really shine. Rerolling characters, depth of individual builds, and customization of each player. You want to play a barb in D3, get the most amount of Crit Chance, Crit Damage, Attack Speeds, and stack resistances and go whirl around some. You want to play a Wizard, same thing, just use archon or perma freeze. Same goes to every class. Stack three different stats as hard as you can and option out some survival. The new item system does nothing but make that easy to self find everything. 2 hours on a crusader, and I shut the game down again. Got him to level 23, and I no longer care again. Diablo 3 is nothing but a shadow of what could have been. It could have reinvented the wheel, but instead it decided to throw a rock on the ground and call it a jet engine. " Well, saying D3 is not p2w is kinda adorable. At least according to my definition of p2w, where "player is able to use real money to get items/advantages in game". It could be a little p2w, like poe (stash tabs) or almost 100% p2w, like d3. A kid playing computer games can never be — and never has been — hardcore.

" ...and on this, we at least agree. :) Game on. |

" I actually have to disagree on this. You may not like it, but with todays modern definition of RPG elements, this means leveling, and character improvement through experience. Zelda had very little of this. Its more of a platformer or action adventure than an RPG, though I suppose it has some rpg elements to it. If its an RPG simply because its set in a fantasy universe, then every game in existence besides games like CoD are RPG games, where they are set in a fantasy universe. Just saying, RPG means generally put, that the game has experience and character growth through leveling, while Zelda had very little of this. Dont get me wrong, I love the series, and still enjoy playing it, I just cant consider it an RPG game due to it lack of RPG elements. simply just by having all stash tabs purchased, means u can hoard and do a lot of recipies for chaos a lot more then the ones who have only default number of tabs
Yes, it is hugely p2w Its not just me saying this, look up on youtube
