Soul Taker needs a nerf
Soul taker, kaoms, aux and shavs are all balanced on the idea that if you can get one of them, then you can get one of the best possible alternatives in the entire game.
Considering the chance of finding uniques can be increased easily while the chance of a perfect rare with all the mods you need for your build all at the best roll cannot, this is why uniques that are designed on par should not exist. Kaoms is even worse cause it relies on sockets when getting a 6link with perfect colours AND mods AND rolls is nigh impossible im comparison to just saying "I should buy kaoms". At least, when they're still considered to be just "a unique item" rather than "a cut above a any of your shit". I've read suggestions of having incredibly strong unique items being classed different to other uniques and account bound, which I think is the best I've seen for dealing with super endgame items. Even better if MF had no effect on the chance of finding super uniques. " Wrong. Elemental based melee characters or builds that do not consume much mana on a 5L or 6L won't really take this. There are plenty of rares with more DPS on it. Having finally a decent unique for most dualwield builds is actually a relief. |

List of uniques that might need changes....
1. Shavronnes Wrappings (Makes a formerly unused and difficult build immediately usable, locking out a build on one unique is a bad idea, this can be fixed in a variety of ways but I hope it gets fixed. I think this is even worse than a unique simply being too powerful) 2. Soul Taker (Nearly all one handed axes are obsolete, excluding elemental based builds) 3. Kaoms Heart (This unique could have the 1k life cut in half and would still be a good item. Thats how crazy good it is. At least it has some kind of downside but the lack of sockets just isn't enough to make it balanced. It would be nice if this chest was removed entirely and life nodes were buffed). 4. Auxium (Giant bonuses for ES spell casters with no real downside? Rarity is not a downside and never will be) 5. Lion Eyes Glare (Very powerful with the only concern being killing yourself on reflect, Its not quite as bad as the others but might need some tweaking) 6. Rainbowstrides (the spell block alone would make these boots appealing for certain builds but the fact that it has high ES, high mana, and good resists/movement speed just makes it pretty over the top for ES builds. It lands in that spot where its far easier to simply buy a rainbowstrides than actually look for comparable rare boots that would probably be even more expensive without the unique perks. 7. Thunderfist (Not convinced that the lack of defense makes up for the ridiculous damage boosts, maybe in hardcore its balanced but standard its a bit crazy) 8. Aegis Aurora (This shield is very build specific so I don't have as much of a problem with it but its still arguably too powerful compared to all other defenses in the game. And as for: "a lot of melee attacks don't cost much mana anyway": hahahaha, seriously? You save at least 4 mana nodes at endgame if you go soul taker. " Every unique needs a relative drawback, otherwise "crafting" rares get hurt a lot. Just look at what Lioneyes did to the bow market and GGG has already stated that they think Lioneyes is too powerful.
