PoE is still boring compared to D2

Diablo 2 was a good game for its time.
But from today's perspective PoE is better in almost every way. IMO.
dead game
bring back 3.13
i never played diablo 2.

only played diablo 1 and 3.
now i cant speak for diablo 2, but "old" games usual leave us with a feeling of nostalgia when we remember them, and that clouds our memory.

there must be a reason why people stopped playing diablo 2.

Path of Exile however is still up to date, gets updated, and is probably one of the best ARPG currently on the market, (not like there is much competition)

Yes, Poe might be more of a solo experience from time to time, but if they wanted it any other way they would probably have done so long time ago.

just my opinion.

PoE has surpassed D2 content-wise only, Diablo 2 still has got the superior atmosphere(''soul'').

Overall though as a complete package, no game has surpassed D2, not even close.

Diablo 2 simply set the bar too high, that's why this 18 year old game is used as reference of comparison on pretty much any arpg forum, be it PoE, D3 or Grim dawn, from the second to none story/lore/atmosphere to the most defined classes ever seen in an arpg(Shape shifting druids, best summoner necro, javazon etc).

PoE is Great, D2 is a masterpiece. I'm still waiting for a game to surpass it(and not just in one category, ie content)

D2 in it's heyday was the undisputed champion of arpgs, and today stands as one of the best games of all time. Blizzard as a company was miles ahead of the competition.

Today, that honor goes to POE and GGG games.

Basically if you want to play D2, you can. Especially modded, it's still a fun experience. For me its just too outdated. POE shines in its build diversity and crafting, and keeps me coming back for that reason. If you understand the game you can make tons of currency to keep trying new builds.

This is my one main gripe with PoE. I really wish they would show some love to group play mechanics and make it beneficial for us to random party more.

PoE feels barren and lonely without it IMO there used to be MORE public games a few years ago..

GGG please release charms so I can fill my inventory with them and complain about inv space
D2 was a masterpiece for its time. Lasted long ago to be the reference of some posterior titles when such posterior titles got released. But time has passed, and whoever who tries to compare D2 to the current state of most games on this genre, will fail.

D2 is history, in the good sense. But history has its place in the time, and D2 time passed long ago. Spent there like 4x the time I've spent here, and there's no single aspect where D2 beats the actual titles (except for D3: Blizzard Activision will never be what Blizzard North was). Long life to D2... but long death too.

Like Leonidas would say: "This-is-PoE!!"
Feel free to ckeck some skill suggestions:

Cant really compare the two. Back then D2 was the king in almost every aspect. But now graphic, end game, play style everything changed. PoE will server its time now, and I believe it's been serving well.
If I go first, I'll wait for you in the other side of the dark water.
so to bring the whole opinion to one point: you don't like the pvp here and because of that you think the endgamecontent is somehow weaker to the 2 bossruns D2 has? kk.

I'm praying that never happens. Inventory management is already bad enough without having to mess around with a magic box and 36 units of charms.
