PoE is still boring compared to D2
D2 is the best for many reasons. Simply also having a high ping wasn't a death sentence and multiplayer was encourage a lot more. Other ARPGs have a tier grind for achievements/rewards, paragons, mapping etc... D2 the end game was the actual acts themselves nothing was a separate instance. Want a certain osoc weapon? Go here. Want these charms? Farm here.
Sure end game diversity was less but it promoted groups and speaking of groups 8 play limits were awesome. The trading economy is unbeaten and little things like bug rushing for hell rune etc or helping on kills was awesome. Runewords was just an awesome concept and getting a UNI was a massive moment. People will log on to farm Baal XP, wait for a bot to TP to throne, log in, all mass frenzy to see what drop but DURING this repetitive grind people chatted AND there was OPEN WORLD PVP. Dueling while not flawless, had many builds that were competitive. ARPGs today is an utter joke because people want perfect balance. Now I think POE is the current best modern ARPG in the market--no lost arc for me yet--but D2 is still unbeatable, it just loses because of the polish and age. If it was remastered properly I am sure it would explode again. Dernière édition par poeGT#1333, le 3 déc. 2018 à 05:57:11

" While I am sure old nostalgic fans (myself included) would play D2 remastered I highly doubt it will ever be what it used to be for various reasons: - it will not add any content while POE is in a constant growth for over 5 years. Considering a remaster would come at the earliest in 2 years (very generous on the time line there) content whise D2 would be like one league mechanic's worth of content. - a lot of people lost faith in Blizzard since the Activition "collaboaration" that lead ot most of the core blizzard founders to leave. This year with the Diablo Immortal fiasco, the statement they are looking at mobile versions in all their IP's and the recent reveales that the company culure at Blizzard is drastically changing 9low pays, harsh conditions, taking advantage of people's dream to underpay them etc.) was a huge blow. - most playesr are nostalgic but if you will actually play D2 next to POE you will find the first severely lacking in many aspects. Times change, games change and waht was once revolutionary and amazing will seem average at beast nowdays in term of standards. "Never argue with an idiot. They will take you down to their level and beat you trough experience."

" Bosses in D2 are equal with Kitava in PoE. Baal Run = Kitava run. Bcs there is no end game in D2. Baal counted as end game. You can kill Kitava. Kitava is not gated behind smt. On the other hand, Ubers in D2 are gated behind boring as hell key runs. Sick trade. Non shared stashes forces you to make and park sick mule characters. Charm mechanic that fucks your QoL for the sake of powercreep. Snigle lined attiribute system. Completely nonsense skill tree. Dupes, hacks even in closed bnet. Completely imbalanced PvE experience. (yes hammerdin) Mediocre PvP mechanics. Diablo 2 does not answer anything expected from ARPG today. There is nothing worth to save and remaster in Diablo 2. " It's the first time I see anyone flying the lack of content flag as it was a good thing. "(Just remark it before you come to say "that's not what I said" xD "A-MA-ZING. You just convinced me, such things like logging and waiting for bots are by far the most awesome features a player can expect from an ARPG... There's not much else to say, you dynamited your argument yourself. There's only ONE thing where D2 is unbeatable: nostalgia. In every other aspect, there are far better options in the current market. That being said, it's incredibly sad that a company has to draw on an old glory like remastering D2 to recover something of what they destroyed. Specially when that old glory doesn't even belong to them. Belongs to Bizzard North. Blizz fanbase wanted a new car, and Blizz gave them a bycicle. People has punished them for that and now they'll wash their old car to pretend it's new. That's sad... and shameful. Feel free to ckeck some skill suggestions:

Disagree. I find PoE endgame way more diverse and complex in general, than I did D2's endgame.
" Agree, except the last sentence. Not sure if you've meant it that way yourself, or just misspoke / did not express yourself precisely. There's plenty in D2 that's worth saving, all the lore, for starters. A remaster would be a HUGE undertaking though. It's not going to happen anyway, since those who own the rights to the franchise are not interested in doing a remaster(and possibly not really capable of doing a remaster that would appeal to oldschool D2 fans). " There´s a limited endgame in diablo 2 but they are not equal. Kitava´s drop is garbage compared to any hell endgame act boss in d2 (drop based on area / boss). PoE bosses with good drop are gated behind rng / currency. Uber bosses in d2 were an exception but still more accessible than f.e Uber Atziri. Charms as mechanic were pretty good despite problematic QoL implementation Skill tree was nice and simple and easy accessible for new players (talking about 1.09 and before mostly). Triple element sorc was perfectly viable (how many active skills are you using here?) " BV using stat-sticks talking about balance ok:D D2 with 1.09 patch and before was balanced quite well and even 1.1 was far better than PoE (not talking about some hacks/Open battlenet). " D2 PvP experience is far better than PoE in anyway. D2 mechanics of skills are better from the pvp perspective. You needed to aim / dodge things, no bullshit such as Poet´s pen VD etc. 1.09 or private leagues were awesome. I see you´re new here but have you ever played d2 on closed battlenet before 1.1? I think you make a very valid point about partying.
POE is a great game, but for some reason as a MMO it doesn’t fulfill the partying options very much. Most people play alone. |

Yeah, maybe because it's not a MMO

" it's not an MMO. it's meant to follow in the steps of D2, and D2 was also not an MMO. you still solo-ed a lot in D2, or perhaps only solo... regardless, trading was still a huge part of the online play though for most people, just like now (SSF is negligible as we can see from stats). |

" Playing in a party is just a big mess here bcos of all flashy effects. You can hardly see some monster´s effect on solo play. Arenas and dungeons are just too small and full of clutter and effects. |
