Even the best gaming rig can not run PoE at 120 fps min
" Herald of Ice causes performance problems not because of FPS. It's server side lags. FPS = 60, always huge lags with HoI + double beyond. Aside from it, I doesn't found any MTX affecting FPS. Main sources of FPS drop is lighting (the totems for 40 challenges i.e., fire) and stacked effects like rain. |

" This is soooo true - when I used to do tech support I had to go into explanations why that was way too much for people who could afford better hardware than I did but had no grasp of basic troubleshooting. Since this thread got bumped up again, I will say this. With all the extraneous effects in delve, I do worry about my vid card overheating - I've felt the temperature in the room increase significantly and consistently with delve runs - more than general mapping. I don't have a super high end card so I don't have extra cooling to support the vid card fan other than basic case fans. Yep, totally over league play.

I've tried a few things since the original post:
First, I removed celestial herald of ice and xmp'ed my ram up to 3000 mhz from 2400 mhz (I believe the latter did not make any difference). In the worse scenarios it will still drop far below 120 fps, as bad as 60. In most scenarios now I get above 100 fps running T16 underground sea which is good enough for me but I am still very dissapointed the engine prevents me from 120 fps steady and drops me to as low as 60 fps under the most intense situations. What I've found to drop FPS the most: -herald of ice MTX (celestial is especially intense) -breaches -beyond fissures -proximity shield mobs from sextants -convertable mobs from sextants -most other mobs from sextants -overall high pack size roll on maps Basically every in game mechanic you need to utilize in order to get more packs will hurt your fps. GGG seriously needs to revisit this mechanic and instead add quantity instead of stacking more performance crippling mobs to an already bloated monster pool. Besides that I would recommend turning down or off all of the fancy graphical settings minus post processing because it's not just worth the peformance loss. Simple solution, A slider to scale down effects on spells etc, veteran players already knows how Lovely Everything looks.
Sometimes there is too much crap on screen its annoying as hell. Agreed? And no we don't care how kewl the new mtx effects look. |

Try playing a frost totem build and everyone saying it's "fine" will quickly change their minds.

" Going from 60 to 120 is nowhere near going from 30 to 60. 30 - 60 is a pretty big difference. 60-120 is a pretty small difference. Poe = poorly optimized, hence demand good software optimization from game devs instead of wasting money on overpriced hardware. It's ridiculous that a 5 years old ARPG needs NASA supercomputers to run and an almost IRL gfx having game (newer too) like Battlefield runs smooth xD Having a particle slider and being able to turn off shadows and shit like "gore" would be nice indeed. You think any of the ppl that are playing PoE with lesser rigs, are going to comment here? Nah the only ppl that are gonna comment here are ppl wth 1080s and shit and make it look like that's what everyone is playing. Lmao @ some guy saying that 60 fps is dated... most ppl don't even play PoE on 60 fps i'm sure. You expect everyone to have thousands of euros to spend on pc hardware to play a ridiculously poorly optimized game lol? You want PoE to have a playerbase of 100 ppl with their extreme pcs? Lmao... How about OPTIMIZE the software GGG, so that someone on a 10 years old pc could play it, like Diablo 3. Also for some reason, if you go to std and you stand in a certain spot (no mtx for an example) and then you go into Delve and you stand in the same exact spot (no mtx again), you will see that you get like 15 more fps in std. Wtf is that? Dernière édition par Paldamus#1328, le 16 oct. 2018 à 10:43:27
