Even the best gaming rig can not run PoE at 120 fps min

maybe take all your obscenely flashy cosmetics off. my gpu ramps up like a mofo whenever i join a town instance. but in my hideout, 250fps uncapped (but i cap at 120fps since its still summer)

edit: i get about 150 in towns uncapped with 1080p potato mode

Are you talking about the item mtx or the herald of ice mtx or both?
IGN: Arlianth
Check out my LA build: 1782214
Just here to say 60Mhz and 144Mhz gsync is night and day. I can tell right off the bat if my monitor goes back to 60 when playing. Whenever my monitor goes to sleep I have to hit the button on the side for some reason to turn it back on.

As far as slow down goes I cap my fps at 120 that way the dips aren't as often or as noticeable. For the majority of the time my fps is a steady 120. Not to say it is always at 120 especially when there is major HoI explosions. There was a nvidia driver that was giving me issues but I don't remember which one it was. Might want to check that out.

My system:
i7-6700k 4.00
gtx 1080 slight OC don't remember but it's negligible for the most part
16 gig ram
SSD

I have noticed PoE has (or had they may have fixed it) a memory leak and I would have to restart PoE occasionally for best performance.
try all cosmetics first. i have 2. a bird and some footprints. i have no problems with fps when soloing.
ya cosmetics definitely highly affect performance, especially the newer super sweepy type of weapon MTXs.

im not sure its enough to drop a 1080 in frames, but its the first thing i disable when im on a different less performing computer.

Just remove mtx - go into delve.. Check your avg fps.. report back!

For me 1080p max graphics with 1070 is 40-50fps in delves..with mtx..but that mtx doesnt hit fps.. The game should..I all old/older games run 4k at 70fps+ easily..

Too bad we dont have polygon counter - we would know the culprit of what eats fps.. since texture memory doesnt affect performance at all, or barely..
I dislike rarity so much im almost quitting poe2. GGG.
It's been 2 days since I last posted my problems on this thread. I have a brand new system just hitting 4 months old. When I first got it and got POE running it was a joy. All my problems were solved. The game ran perfectly.

Then Delve started and I'm back to having disconnections. The game runs perfectly then splat everything freezes. Doesn't matter whats happening in mobs or in town is no different.

The game freezes forcing a reboot of the entire system.

Two days ago the game was unplayable. Yesterday it ran perfectly. No lags no disconnections nothing. I played a solid eight hours.

Today I can't even log on. Game freezes on loading. WTF!!!!!

P.S.
Just a note in passing. My new computer runs everything else perfectly. I can go anywhere, play any game like Grim Dawn, a stand alone game, League of Legends, Lord of the Rings etc without a single hick up.

POE crashes then crashes then crashes.
FWIW, I get none of that on my rig. So it's not universal. Just because your other games are running OK doesn't mean your rig isn't at fault.
My biggest problem is I'm currently on shit wifi, so I get all kinds of rubberbanding and disconnects. Just about disconnect it lab yesterday; I almost lost my shit, lol. I need better internet.
Pretty much same setup here; CPU: I7 8700K slightly overclocked
GPU: GTX 1080TI OC'd
16 GB RAM

previously only DX9ex was working well for me with dips to 50~60 fps and highs of 100 but now on both DX11 and DX9ex I dip as low as 15FPS in big packs and 60 is my high!!! This is straight up ridiculous and unplayable for me.

When PUBG runs at 120~144 FPS constantly on the worse optimized map for me and Blackout minimum FPS is 110 with highs near 300 it is just ridiculous that I can't even get 60 FPS constantly in this game!

I have about tried everything from settings to legacy GPU drivers to reinstalling the game and even formatting my computer and yet PoE is still the only game on my computer that runs this bad!
