Even the best gaming rig can not run PoE at 120 fps min

I've played poe since open beta and even at then, I noticed how high end performance was a major issue keeping the game back and while there have been substantial improvements over time. The fact remains, PoE end game is too taxing for even modern rigs wanting to play at high resolutions and modest graphical settings.

What I experience: High level maps will stay around 100 fps but will drop as low as 60 in the most intense situations - think beyond + sextant mobs + large pack size herald of ice shatters in a T16 map or shooting into an abyss or shooting into a breach or shooting into a harbinger. Certain maps seem to also perform really well (underground sea, most delve encounters) and certain ones not so well (haunted mansion). I also noticed that excessive amounts of items on the ground seemed to affect fps. For comparison, A gtx 970 will stay around 60 fps but drop as low as 30 in the most situations.


Is this as far as technology can go? Is there really no way to maintain 120 fps minumum or even consistently with any modern day rig without lowering my resolution?

PoE is literally one of the worst optimized games ever hell even the new RTX wouldn't max it out.

It's that bad.

Come on bruh. 60fps is perfectly acceptable.

I just built my rig this Wednesday. I got a 1080 instead of a 1080 ti. 4k was too much for it to handle, but it runs real smooth at 2k.

I find that going from 60 to 120 fps makes a huge difference. It is like going from console 30 fps to stanard 60 fps.

That aside, the best rig money can buy should be able to run path of exile at 1440p and 120 fps. I'm not playing the witcher 3 or crysis, this is path of freaking exile.

I'm not asking GGG to rewrite the engine from the ground up. I'm hoping for incremental improvements like allowing us to turn off gore from belly of the beast, and further optimizations to multi shatter calculations and herald of ice procs.

titan ex is not very good for the price you would want to get 2 of them in order to make up for the price in performance but then you would pay double

well its as you say, when theres a billion and a half effects happening all at once.
not many games have that happening. it isn't any wonder why you experience fps drops. every game with so many things happening at the exact same time would. literally every single one.

that would be even worse price to performance, you don't get double the performance with two graphics cards
