Its Time To Stop Having 3 Month Leagues
the 1months and 1weeks and whatnot - how many players would have played them if these were voided?
it is an open secret that 1m races give extreme profits as one can simply pick a no gear required build and rush to dried lake and sell everything he finds. the mods are cool to so it is not that easy as with standard-bis but the bribe is there as well |

" This only affect a very tiny small portion of the player base I'm pretty sure. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" the more i think about this the more i keep asking myself if this is true. a new economy only favours those who play a lot (either the game itself or the market) and are able to start playing the league the first days. All other, more casual, players end up spending their currency for gear only so they may have nothing left to roll maps (unless they get a lucky drop). the "new economy" is the same for every league i played so far. The same few ppl keep manipulating the market or scamming less experienced players. PoE is not a game for someone who can play it 10-15 hours a week. for those leagues are too short to reach any goal and also you have to be online to trade (sell your shit). i actually hope GGG is going back to the 4 month cycle and give us better leagues/content that is more polished. they need to fix perfomance issues badly and also give us more QoL like better trading, guild and friend/ignore management. up until now the 3 month cycle only showed that the game (or better: newly added content) is getting worse overall. only perandus was an engaging league, all others (even prophecy) were boring and lab still is a big fail. furthermore they haven't added temp league content to standard for ages. which i believe is also due to the short development cycle. GGG needs to focus more on longtime players. such who don't burn through their game in 1 month playing 12+ hours a day. those guys would only be satisfied if you have 1 month leagues and even then i doubt they would play the game for 1 year straight at this pace. and all others wouldn't bother much playing such leagues. |

You can easily reach high levels and have quite high goals with 10-15 hours a week, it's already a lot of time invested in a game, really.
Now in a fresh economy, it's not very easy to spend only couple of chaos and get basic gear. If you need a bit more than that basic gear, some dried lake farm should be sufficient quickly. To add to that ... players are more active in fresh leagues, probably less afk, and I would guess would not overprice everything because the market is soo inflated already ... In a fresh league, if you get some early drops of low level uniques, you can make couple of chaos with them maybe, pretty cheap and everybody is happy. In standard .... => vendor, plain and simple, so the market does not get tons of items to compensate tons of orbs => prices skyrocket. That's how I see it, correct me if I'm wrong, but the last time I checked, the prices were crazy high in standard. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

i play in standard and the prices are.. polarized. crazy good items are in fact expensive but.. if you do not need them then you can get mid range items for basically nothing
also.. standard has a lot more gear. people are no longer picking rares. literally. they do not pick them up. it means that i wasnt able to buy an AR/EV hybrid shield with 1k ar and 70+ life plus two resists i need for the entire 3 month league duration! it is cool to only pick ES gear and uiques but it makes playing anything but FOTM prwtty damn impossible in leagues. this clear speed meta imho killed rare market - and by that i mean non-meta items like hybrid shields, es/ev chests etc. in standard not only i can find these i can also buy them as sellers are mostly available this is one of the reasons why rares are not 'great'. it is impossible to make good use of their unique stats when the items in questions simply are filtered out by our gods - loot filter creators so we have a dumb unique only itemization and one gear archetype (ES). accesories and weapons (except bows 2h weapons daggers and few other types that have bis unique end game choices ofc.. lol) |

Well there are cheap unique chest that are just better than most rare anyway ... and most builds ( not just fotm ) can use them easily.
Atziri's splendour for example. But I hear you about that, yeah. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

i was trying to get an upgrade for that since week 3 of a league. there was one shield that i got sniped on but that was fair. and that shield is not even that great! it needs to have life high AR, some EV (i hate symetrical rolls without life) and these resist. checking for it every day and picking up every shield in vain hope. this trading thing.. we are killing it ourselves by flocking to one item stereotype |

" I did use for quite some time, I was looking for AR/EV too and decided to forget the life roll first. There are some very good ones atm, not many but there are on poe.trade But yeah, it's not typical so people don't bother, it's the law of the market kinda ... SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

I never did any trade, i never had currencies saved up, never had my 4 tab stash full,
actually this lv81 is my highest character ever in POE, so i still have alot to do in standard. Maybe i havent even seen half of the game yet... finishing all the stories, acts, difficulties was kinda an easy beginning. But there's still a lot more. So i never tried leagues.. not even made a character for this prophecy stuff. Yet i heard its gonna be on standard after league is over. Which means, when a new league starts, i still have nothing to do there, since i will have prophecy on standard. Get it? If it's still going on everytime, i'll never be active in any current league :D Doesnt matter if its 1-2 or 3 months if i'll never try em out. Also... as long as i have alot to do in standard, why would i make a fresh start in a temporary league? (especially if i will get those features sooner or later) If im not the only one with this, there is the reason for the standard actual numbers. This maybe off: (some may find it offensive, but its not intended)
Spoiler
I know and i hate the fact, there are actual builds that can overpower everything..
Certain passive nodes, certain items to get for millions of dps and all the players do, is the same "clearspeed" stuff... doesnt care about what mobs or environment or anything.. just run and timing your skills to finish off quickly, that's it. I dont like it, it sounds boring. I actually hate to see attack speed can be over 600% and things like that making dps so absurd. Looks and feels like a hack or bug in game, also looks dumb with whatever skills. Its ok if some likes it. If they like to just run and click and kill everything and anything in an instance before they see it. It all depends on playstyle. Back in early of 2000's years when i played diablo 1-2 and sacred 1, there was no internet, we did not even know about it, so we "self found" everything about our games. There were no races and no exploits, no "becoming overpowered and complain about it being possible" For me Exile is the same when i played those games. Its fun! I have a hard time killing stuff and/or survive, so i get more power, bit by bit.. I try to figure out what's good or not, Im trying out everything, sometimes "regret" them. Without any trades and (except 1 friend sometimes) always solo playing its also hard to get some good items with my bad luck. But i like it! Yet i know for the mass of community Exile is all about certain builds with certain items, that someone found long ago. No one cares about other possibilites, just wanna do it faster and faster, no matter what it takes. As even devs mentiones, its good to see players feel powerful. Its ok if you like it. But i feel sometimes im forced to do the same.. For a quick example, there's this thing with attack speed and dps.. It feels like if i want a decent attack power / damage the best and almost only option is to take the dps way, take the certain speed nodes and certain uniques and/or mods. Just to even think there's a way like that, it makes me feel.. damn am i forced to do that? Maybe i dont understand the game and its other hidden possibilites, but it feels like... if i wanna be stronger in damage, all i "have to" do is becoming faster? So there's no possibility for.. say being slow but strong with a raw huge amount of damage? There's no real "one swing" but thousands of chops in a second? I dont wanna follow the (only possible) roads just to become stronger and have no struggles anymore but care about time and time everywhere.. time of my attacks, time of my "clearspeed" and all.. Whenever it comes to POE even if i just search the name in google, there are always these builds with keywords like "Atziri viable" "Tier13 viable" "Million DPS" "Budget" "Clearspeed" and it looks stupid.. Like those prank videos on youtube that lacks in creativity and humor and all, then it tries to catch more views by adding "Gun Pulled" "Gone Sexual" and those stupid keywords. Sorry if anyone feels insulted about this, it wasnt intended... its just how i see this game from the outside. So i see why ppl are complain about lack of content and too long time of leagues and all. They play in a wrong way because its possible. Which means there's something wrong with the game itself. From the inside tho, i love the game in my slow (maybe casual) playstyle. With my unexploited builds, and speed and actual care about the game and not my speed of finishing the game, I just probably never will try out any actual leagues, as long as i have a lot to do in the core game. Well maybe i will just give it a try next time, maybe not. You know, i dont wanna rush it because "Only the road matters, there's nothing on the end of it" |

" Because at some point, you will get used to everything dropping being crap but very rare cases, everything you drop is just time "lost" or salvaging. When you start fresh, you start to look for everything again, every drop has a much higher chance of being good to you, plus it might be a completely different character and playstile, etc .... There's that. And if you start a temp league, you will anyway be able to continue in standard later on, your character does not die at the end of the league so .... better have the fresh league, and keep going in standard later on if you want. But you still have a lot to discover I guess. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
