Its Time To Stop Having 3 Month Leagues
Im not really sure where this "tradition" or "rule" came into play which said that leagues should last 3 months?
However i think its time GGG starts to look @ the statistics of the player-base and realize that a majority of people stop playing after the first 2 months of the league. Whenever a new league starts, 1m or 3m there are a ton of players online. People buying mtx, going for challenges, racing to lvl 100 etc etc. When the league is over 1 month old all the racers have finished hitting their lvl 100 and the only people left streaming are the regular streamers like raizqt, ziggyd, lifting, zizarian, mathil, etc. The racing streamers stop touching poe twitch after the first month and soon the league begins to die. People who hit their 36 or 24 challenges just stop logging in, items littered all-over poe.trade which never come online All of a sudden the poe.trade is flooded with items that arent being sold, people who join the league late after the 1-2month period start searching poe.trade for items Constantly met with the message - This player is Afk / This player is not online/ This player does not exist People begin to give up trying to remake a character because its impossible to buy anything All the HC players who failed during the first 1 month begin to switch to the SC league or Standard After the 2 month mark i think a small portion of the players from the first 2 months remain playing The league is officially dead at this point, friend lists are empty, guilds inactive, trade 1 can be joined at any time its never full Why are we having 3 month leagues? Im absolutely sure that it would be way more fun to have just 2Month Leagues. This would allow GGG to run more variants and mods etc do more testing with the player base In fact i think people would even enjoy just seeing flashback mods etc GGG doesn't even have to implement anything new... But whats happening is we have these ridiculous 3 Month leagues and people who went ham during the first 2 months basically stop playing and the last month is just there for no real reason. Its time to stop Its time to stop doing 3 month leagues. Please im so bored after the first month is finished of a new league i just kind of stop playing because ive already experienced what the league has to offer. Theres none online, i cant buy anything, friends quit as well. Essentially alot of the hardcore gamers love seeing new leagues but the 3 month basically makes us take 2 month hiatus's from the game..... Just some feedback Dernier bump le 23 août 2016 à 17:05:34

Leagues were already bumped up from 4 months to 3 months. Id say its asking too much, in addition to that it means wed just get worse content and leagues because everything would be rushed in order for it to be done every two months.
3 Months is fine as is, 4 months was too long. 2 Months is asking too much and would just lead to generic leagues that would cause players to stop playing or not play at all. My 2 cents on the subject. Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

" TFH, I partially agree. Yes, you need to give the teams adequate time to prepare the next league. But why not have each new league last two months, and follow it with a one-month-long flashback league? - 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0- 0 * - <

"Maybe im the only one but i never play flashback leagues, i dont know what kind of numbers they normally get for those leagues but i dont think that it would feel very good starting new leagues that often. It gives you no downtime and in my opinion would really make people burn out. Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

joke, I will change my behavior and give a chance for GGG, let's see if they really care about solving technical problems when there is no moon, I 'm a nice person The end of all that is - The winter has come - Hold the door - The North Remembers I hope you have a good life on the other side of the wall “Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.” Gen. " 3 Months is the best, yes the activity of the league dies down after a while, it gives GGG enough time to work on the next thing, while also giving enough time to fully flesh out the league, if they are going to be incorporated into the game. If they wanted to run a 1 month during the last month of the league I think that would be fine, but some people dont like missing out and it could lead to burnout even faster if thats the case https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

" Okay so the reasons people burnout and what causes them to quit 1. Get rekt too often (aka a bad build) if in HC that means loss of char, if in SC that means cant level up and hit a fat wall which makes them give up = game is 2 hard = quit 2. None to play with (aka league is dead) cant trade, cant have people do services, cant find people to map with etc = game is lonely = quit 3. Plays the league to the fullest, hits lvl 85+ on multiple different characters, no new content to try or builds to try = game is boring = quit 4. Doesnt have alot of time for gaming, plays the game here and there, starts to play other games that is more engaging and instant action (overwatch) and the league is kind of boring = other games more fun = quit 5. Recently played a league and went ham, new league comes out but with no new content and the league isnt challenging at all or remotely fun ( aka prophecy) = no new content = game hasnt changed game is boring = quit 6. People join the new league but there are alot of latency and fps issues which causes people to rip in HC = game is buggy/unplayable = quit That pretty much sums up every reason people burnout from the game. Now a 3 month league is 84 Days long usually within the first 7 days we see lvl 100's on the ladder. Tons of reddit posts showing new uniques etc Within the first 14 days people have completed a majority of the challenges and have already tried out most of the league's content etc Lots of new build guides, usually some patches come in play to fix bugs etc, videos of every new boss and new content is posted, every hard challenge or difficult area has been done including uber atziri. Within 21 Days people are done with challenges and either moved to SC to do other challenges, or left poe to play other games. At this point many people already experienced 90% of the league content and nothing new is being added. After 28 Days the only people who really remain are the dedicated players who dont really play other games, or people who joined the league late. At this point everything in the league has been explored and nothing new to show on reddit etc. The league is officially dead IMO So im asking for 2 month leagues which gives time for all the players who dont have alot of gaming time, people who join in late, etc. Theres no scenario in which we NEED a 3 month and like i said im sure the statistics show how much of the player base remains after the first 2 months of a new league. I agree, let's go back to having 4 month leagues.
We fight to delay the end because it's the means that matter.

Also here is how you KNOW a league is "DEAD"
1. Trade 1 can be joined at any time, its never full (aka trade is dead) 2. No public parties in Merciless Act 4 or 3 (aka party services/ afk trade messages are dead) 3. Everyone you message on poe.trade is afk or offline and have left their trade programs online while playing other games ( aka trade is dead) 4. The poe statistics show over 20% of the playerbase is back on standard. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1707517 Percentage of overall player time spent in each league the last week Standard - 20.54% Hardcore - 0.73% Prophecy - 65.63% Prophecy Hardcore - 13.10% 5. Popular racing streamers are no longer streaming (aka none cares about hitting 100 or "racing") |

I came back into the game when the prophecy league was starting its 3rd month, and in my personal experience it was good enough. I was able to buy some items, from the 15 people or so that I whispered asking to buy something, only 3 or 4 didn't answer. I also joined a guild and there is at least 1 person online most of the time. Maybe its just me though.
Oh and also its probably more ok for me because I'm not a very experienced player and I'm not playing so hardcorely for now. Dernière édition par Linck#0716, le 21 août 2016 à 18:51:49
