OH OH! I've hit the PoE endgame XP grind mountain and everything is boring

You all are making the choice to remain in HC easier and easier... keep it up. I almost want to try SC out for a change and then I read stuff like this.

Keep making your choices on the basis of what random people on the forum say and see where that takes ya :)
If they change stuff to make a certain group of player's happy, they will always make other player's unhappy.

I personally love the grind toward's level 100 and everything it involves. At the same time, I understand why other player's will hate it.

Tough for GGG to please everyone... all of the time! :(

 With Ascendancy right around the corner as I type this (6 days, 5 hours) I should be excited about the new content, new subclasses, new enchanting orbs, etc. Instead after reading other threads here I come to the realization that Ascendancy is not going to make the endgame xp grind and BiS gear hunt any better. bla bla bla

just rereoll or play other game... There is no game that will keep you entertained for ever.

So, imagine they did that, you hit level 100, what's next?

For me it's most likely quit. Hitting 100 is my final goal... I've tried a heap of stuff and it all feels stale for me now (such as leagues and running through the game for the 100th time eh)
I dunno... it's not about showing off for me. It's about setting a difficult goal and achieving it. A goal most other players and forum users say is crazy and only for no-lifers. I only get an hour or two a day to play games unless I have a day off work... so the accomplishment of hitting 100 would be fantastic.
I enjoy having my 1 really good Exile that I dedicate my gaming time to and try to get him the best that he can be.
To each their own though... that's just my reason for wanting to hit 100. Things like trading and having a 10 or more viable end-game exiles or races or league point ladders and all that... not for me. Getting my favorite Exile 100% completed having tried all content (that I can access in Standard anyway) hells yes plz.

<snip>

The level 75 cap on gear drops means my level 86 Scion is forever stuck with what I have found many, many levels ago. It has even been hinted at that as we level up the real quality of gear drops is slowly going down. I was thinking about that as I id'd another rare boots to see if it had a +30% speed increase mod only to be saddened (no speed or at most +10% speed). Let's see now, have I looked at 1000 rare boots yet with no +25% or +30% speed.

<snip>

I am sad. :(

Sorry to hear that you are sad.

How can you have not found any rare boots with no 30% run speed? Even with my sporadic play time, I manage to find numerous pair in almost every league. I may not find a pair with 30% run speed, 2+ good resists and good life every league. But I can almost always find 30% speed, and 2 mods with good resists and/or OK life.

Then again, I don't start saving things for chaos recipe until I have gear pieces which are working well for my character. Aside from resists, one of the factors I always work towards is run speed - so no rare boots are going towards the recipe until I have a usable pair of 25% plus boots. That is almost always possible before maps, though it doesn't always happen before act IV.

My suggestion would be to hit more bosses like Piety, Dominus and What's his Lake. They seem to have a better chance (to me) of dropping good combo mods. You definitely won't get top mods from them, and most of the time their drops are just alt shard food, but when RNG hits the bosses, you can get 2-3 or sometimes even 4+ very good mods on an item from them.

Late End game gear from them? Probably not the stats most people want for late end game, but good enough to keep pushing on and enjoy the game, imo.

YMMV.

You could've had 3 level 100s in the time it took you to type all that out

ZING
The grind in PoE is worse compared to other online games/MMOs tbh. It really does feel like you're "not meant to hit 100" like one poster said, but my question is: why?
