Perhaps Dominus's statement is actually an allusion; undoubtedly, it is the real reward in this chapter.

When Dominus changes forms directly following the statement "This world is an illusion, exile." which is he representing: "this world", or the "illusion"?

We might have a Raziel-Soul Reaver type of thing. The Exile IS Dominus and he is doomed to kill himself for all eternity.

This Dominus quote is even missing from the wiki, so nobody actually understands what is said, not even English natives :)

It's one of the coolest quotes in the game (besides Nessa's. <3 Nessa) because it can mean WHATEVER YOU WANT IT TO MEAN! :O

Man,the one who failed here is you.Dominus does not say "Reality is an illusion,exile".He says "This world is an illusion,exile!".Here you have all your claims of quote's invalidity undermined.If you want to discuss something,make sure you know what you are talking about.
In my opinion Dominus talks about something we will know more about in next acts hopefully,seeing how Dominus suddenly appears out of nowhere,without any prior hints on him being the mastermind behind all the events(only the letters of exile at the very beggining mention him).

It's THIS world that is an illusion according to Dominus, not PoE. We are all living an illusion. That is the philosophical message.
