Secret recipe revealed
" Actually, this helps those that play casually but don't trade like crazy have a chance at 20% gems... I know it's first time ever I started getting ideas about getting 20% gems (although currently I don't have any gems over level 17... anyone know xp for level 20?) Designer of The Broken Crown

" so i guess u want 10x rare drop rate increase and all other crap? and u want to complete the game in a week and quit it? all this games r holding on very low drop rate for some items. w/o it this games(h'n's) will be worthless. also, it ruins the meaning of gcp. why it's the third rate rare orb in game then?(after ex an eternal) U guys really worried only to get best equip w/o playing. Go play singleplayer games then. With hacked chests/stashes. |

" Well, my ranger is 50% to 85 and my highest gem is about 2/3 of the way to level 20. It's quite a bit of time invested to hit 20, the only thing I would consider using this recipe for is something like frenzy, which does more damage at level 17 20% than a non quality level 20 frenzy. |

to everyone complaining this is "bad for the ecnomony"
really? so only super rich players who can afford to buy ALL their gems as quality versions in advance deserve to wear them? and the rest of us scrubs better pay up to exactly those rich people if we wanna enjoy the good builds only they could afford until now? this is exactly the kind of elitism that ruins REAL economies. in my opinion the economy was just FIXED! buy all Qgems your build needs in advance to have a good build? not longer mandatory, but OPTIONAL spend 20gcp/40Chaos per gem you didn't buy as quality version when you started out and don't wanna trade in for quality gem you'd have to RELEVEL AND GCP to 20%? NOPE, not anymore. this is good dammit! it gives you a goal besides just grinding for xp! it also raises EVERYONES survivability which so much has been complained has been supposedly nerfed in recent patches. "when my gem hits 20..niice...20%" but if you really can't wait, you'll just do it the "old fashioned" way. buy Qgem and gcp it up. you now have invested in something and feel good about it AGAIN OPTIONS! 20% reduced mana gem? COOL i can use it on skills and not just auras now! ANOTHER OPTION! experiment with new builds cause now you can 20% gems no one ever considered to 20% because it was just not "worth" it? YES! OPSHAAANZ! stop thinking so much in profit this orb into that currency this currency into that. think in OPTIONS and you will enjoy the "new" economy much more! good day sir! I'm that Morty guy.

Hahaha, my god these forums are entertaining! Why are the stupidest people often the loudest?
Thank you GGG, this recipe is a godsend for us casual gamers who can't afford qGems. Just got my first 20q gem and feel like a champ! |

" I know thats what I was saying, This is a good thing the only people that are against it are the trade junkies that fear losing some profit. People say the AH ruined d3, well since the drops in this game have trade as a factor, trade kinda ruins this game as well, there will always be people trying to screw people over, and people that play just to try and get wealth for some reason. Trade is fine as a option it just shouldnt be mandatory.

I think that recipe is a bit unfair. It makes GCP (quite rare currency, i should admit) quite useless. It also makes dropped Qgems useless.
Just think about it - everyone can easily level 6 gems, just placing them in the swap weapons (so they dont impact gameplay at all), + extra gem he/she is using. And when gems reach 20 level, just trade them for Q20 for 1 GCP. I think, game economy would be much better and healthier without that recipe. IGN: MortalKombat

" The two points you just made are contradictory. If GCPs drop in price, the threshold for how low quality a gem can be to be considered for GCP'ing it up to 20% gets lower, not higher. That's the whole idea behind this recipe; it does a better job of playing a bunch of tradeoffs off of each other than the system for gems that exists now. Now you have a way to trade time for gem quality that doesn't measure time in GCPs. There now exists a three-way currency exchange between time, gem quality, and GCPs that is way more dynamic than it was before.
"Only needing one GCP instead of several to 20% a gem makes it more useless 2_2? |
|
" Yes, because it will take far less GCP to get all Q20% gems you want. And when you get them, you will never, EVER want more GCP's (except you change build or go twinking). So, they will quckly became useless. Before recipe was invented/implemented, you had to spend a lot, lot more GCPs to get Q20 gems (people usually crafted Q20 gems from Q13-17 ones, and that gems are RARE to drop, unlike common ones). Sure, it is attractive to have so easy access for Q20 gems, but that ruins game's economy. Qgems will became too common, and GCP will be as cheap as blessed orb, or even worse IGN: MortalKombat
