Tried the game again in SSF... NOPE! I'll try again in 0.5 to make sure it still sucks!
" you do understand that most "guides" are done by players far better than you, with solid ingame knowledge? Was is actually a leveling build? Did the guide writer describe alternatives if drops don't hold up? nope surely not. act 2 end is a time where an exile can be quite weak compared to mobpower. Taking ages on jammara is normal depending on drops. Coupled with the fact that you don't actually know anything about the game does the rest. Don't play a challenge mode if you're not skilled enough. Current Build: Penance Brand

Jamanra exists as a hard mechanical skill check, and a soft recovery and player damage "penetration/burst" check.
He has significant armour against physical damage for that level of monster and also lightning resistance. Many of his mechanics are sustained chip damage or DoT mechanics or ailment/slow mechanics, with his large "finisher" slams or explosions peppered in. That means a player needs to either avoid the chip/dot and/or be able to recover from it along with maybe taking an errant slam, have high enough lightning res not to get one-shot, and on top of that, be able to damage him. For players who know how to do the fight, damaging him usually means they are dodging around all of the mayhem in the arena, and letting their pot-shots build up a cc like freeze or stun or electrocute, which will then be their primary DPS windows for burst damage and inflicting any DoTs of their own (bleed/ignite/poison). For players who claim you need a "gg" weapon for the act 2 bossfight in ssf, you are not doing it right. You've got to play with the drops that you get, not the drops that you want. There's many ways to cleverly get through the fight, even if it means your better off using a skill you don't plan to use in your "final build" - that's part of the ssf challenge. |

Sad thing is it may not be the build but RNG on loot/materials. The introduction of SSF or even better a Guild Found would be greatly appreciated.

" Buddy, there's people that beat bosses without gear, because they're simply have good reaction at dodging boss attacks. Majority of bosses can be defeated without taking a single hit. You can make currency during campaign by for example selling low level spirit gems, single level 8 spirit gem goes for 200 ex, for 200ex you can buy full gear set during campaign, and even make couple weapon upgrades along the way. Ok, show a video of you beating the Act 2 boss in, let's say 5 minutes, without taking a single hit.

" Hmmm... I wonder how many decades it takes them to go through the boss without gear... because the HP bar won't go down faster because of your "good reflexes"... My problem is not the boss's damage or his moveset... my problem is that it's HP bar is inflated to the point that it bores me to death...doubling the HP bar is the STUPIDEST way to make a game "more difficult"... there's nothing challenging in making the fight take double the time... I didn't say the fight is difficult... I said the fight is PAINFULLY BORING!!! |
|
" You still don't get the point... his HP bar is TOO BIG... I can beat him, that's not my problem... my problem is that it TAKES TOO LONG!!! It stops being fun when it's dragging on and on and on and on and on... it becomes a tedious chore... I never said "I'm losing to Jamanra"... did I type that anywhere? NOPE! I said that it sucks all the fun out of the game when the fights are painfully long and they keep going and going until you're begging for it to just end because you're tired of the tediousness... I never asked for someone to tell me "how to beat" the boss... I can beat him just fine... I said that after the end of the fight I felt annoyed and like my time was wasted by a fight that should have lasted 30% of what it actually lasted in terms of time wasted to beat him... Make the boss do even more damage if you want... just make the fight SHORTER!!! |

" The claim that GGG didn't consider doing something different with SSF like loot buff is pretty false imo. They've talked about it several times throughout the years. The simple fact is they designed the entire game around trade intentionally. SSF is an optional challenge mode. However, they didn't want to take away the excitement of a big drop like a mirror, which would be fairly worthless is SSF. So they allow transferring from SSF into trade. If they increased loot in SSF, it would just flood into trade and absolutely wreck the economy. I do agree that there's not a will to fix that issue since they intentionally explicitly prioritize trade, and SSF is explicitly supposed to be a harder challenge mode for bragging rights, not easier or the default option. SSF isn't at it's peak in 2 yet for sure, but many people have no issue getting through the game at all and do it league after league. It just takes more grinding. Which is the entire point of opting into SSF. I really wish that when you selected SSF it had a big pop up clearly explaining that the player is opting into a more difficult mode and that it will never be changed to be easier. Though I don't even that would stop these threads demanding the game change one of the moist core design pillars. Dernière édition par KaosuRyoko#1633, le 8 janv. 2026 à 10:11:29

" I think you've missed my point, which is that you make the fight shorter by learning how to complete it more effectively and efficiently. Out of curiousity, how long would you suggest the fight be? Searched "final boss act 2" on youtube and there's a guy who just face tanks everything spamming high velocity rounds on a crossbow who does it in just over 2min30sec which I think is pretty reasonable considering the approach. Personally, I do it much quicker on every single ssf char I make these days. Good gear brings it to insta-phase levels of speed. To put it into simpler language - the health bar feels too large to you because you don't know how to do damage to him effectively. As well, doing so does not require a "gg" weapon, it requires that you use the tools available to you in a more effective manner which involves considering more than just the weapon itself. It's a difficult fight before you're familiar with it, as are a lot of the poe2 bosses. I'm sure one day he'll be just another loot pinata for you if you keep playing though. |

I already think you don't need to trade at all to be succesful so imagine doing Act 1 and 2. If you really like this genre, you'll try to get stronger and you will GRIND.
