Dissapointed 44 years old player

Hello, I'm an older casual gamer, myself. The one advantage I have over you is simply my experience with PoE 1, and how that translates into PoE 2.

This is hopefully the worst league PoE 2 will ever have. However, in some less obvious ways it is also one of the best -often for the same reasons. The 0.4 patch was rushed and untested. This led to massive bugs, undocumented changes, and many results the developers simply couldn't have anticipated.

The amount of build diversity and raw power available to the players this patch will probably never exist again in PoE 2. The best part is, you don't need expensive items to access it. It's a bitter pill, because we have to navigate this power within the context of massive bugs, a broken economy, and a bad league mechanic. However if you take the time to understand what and why of various builds the payoff is large.

IF you still have any desire to play this game left (if you don't I can't blame you), look at various builds for your class. Understand why they are strong, what their weaknesses are, and set up a character to your liking. Then just have fun and ignore all the economy nonsense.

Good luck
Hi Mate.

True words, well spoken.

I am a long time veteran. Was it 12 Years now or more... Yeah poe1 the First Leauge was my first time.

I can understand most of ur Point of view.
Yeah!
We made a guild on Console. I settled over to Console in Synthesis Leauge , a while back.
And our goal was to help other German Players to understand Poe1 better.

I Can just underline some comments. Take your Time to play, whatever you can Play. If a Self Crafting Bow is out of reach, just think about other Possibilitys

What if u try a Elemental Damage to Attack bow, with high Elemental Damage, and look at ur damage Calculations.
Maybe think of some other Abyss Mods, that other player sell for less, because they think, there craft gone wrong.
Maybe try a Boss setup in ur Offhand to just lower the resistance of Uberbosses.

Or try other builds that are more suited for bossing. The Build diversity is good this leauge. But often some Builds can do everything like A+ to S+ without gear. And some Builds are not designed for it.
Just ask in the Community, if someone can kill u arbiter, that u get the Yellow Tablets, and farm up - after that try it urself again.

There are some ways.
But everything is Pointless if u lose Fun.
Fun is everything.
I Hope u stay healthy and still can enjoy Path of Exile in your own pace.
There isn't a build diversity. The set-up builds play the same way they are intended to. I always bring up cold Monk as an example because there simply aren't any ways to build him, just one. Similar deal with the rest, especially Druid. Doesn't matter what transformation, you have a set path. So, no, the game doesn't have build diversity.

Spoken like a guy whose clearly never built his own build.

Any decent build can do t15/16 and t3 pinnacles on 10 div budget, period.

You dont need to cry about that 1500 div bow you cant afford, because you don't need it do stuff your build most likely already does anyway.

If you reached the point when upgrades too expensive and barely noticeable, time to chill or try new build instead of crying, you're 44...

Nobody crying, you are the tipical kid who just come to spice things saying "dont cry" to provoque because you probably play gang squad and abuse exploits or buy currency.

If you have something to add use arguments please.

I gave some facts, and examples too, if you are so smart like you pretend to be, discuss them with arguments, not just trying to provoque with that stupid dont cry. Nobody crying, just observed a few problems this game has imo, learn to read, thats kids problem nowadays, they see so many vids they cant understand when something is just written without someone talking.

An arpg should allow me to do all content by my own, not by farming to top players to buy stuff, thats the point. If you cant understand that you probably wont understand what an arpg is just to start with. Read again, and slower, or ask your favourite youtuber to read it for you in a video, you will see nobody is crying, but discussing with arguments, thats why Im 44 and you just a kid with a default answer.

I did not stop because of the "doomsaying". I stopped because I loathe people who abuse "features" getting away unpunished. Not only that, by nerfing the temple now, without erasing the profits the abusers made, is basically rewarding them and hitting the others with a hammer over the head. So allow me not to contribute to rewarding that type of behavior from the developers by extracting myself from the ecuation. If I chose not to abuse that "feature", yet the devs reward those who did abuse it, I'd rather distance myself from this kind of approach. And I encourage others to do the same, though of course everyone is free to do as they please.
As for the economy auto-correcting, you are missing the point I was trying to make, which was not about the economy, or rather not mainly about that. Actions should have consequences (as they did when people abused the altar "feature" and got banned), only in this case the "consequence" is the developers rewarding those who abused the mechanics.
I don't care about the currency gap. I can always buy some if I want to. What I want is for the cheaters (because that's what I consider them) to get punished. Unfortunately, they got rewarded.
If that feels like a game you want to participate in, enjoy!

You just shot your own position by stating this:

You no longer hold the moral high ground. You want people banned and you buy currency which is a banable offense?

The proof is clear by judging from the gap of omens price drop, the market was being fixed/manipulated. Everything points to RMT proffits... And then you admit you buy currency...

It's the act of buying currency that justifies the existence of RMT and market manipulation at this scale.

Actually I do, since I haven't. See the difference? That's how a moral compass works: just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it.

That's beside the point and you know it, or I hope you do.

You can do all content on your own. SSF players do.

It might take a while to learn the ins and outs of the game to be able to do so though, but it can be done.

Oh, and I'm 66.

I do not and will not use TFT.

Legend! (thumbs up)

I just want to add, the developers have repeatedly said that pinnacle bosses - especially max difficulty bosses - are purely aspirational. Not all builds or players are expected to beat them. I think they are making it abundantly clear that we are NOT entitled to beat them, and that's okay. I'm happy if I do, but I don't care if I don't.
