0.31 - Can't see rares on map anymore... bad move

People who dont mind losing the rare icons probably arent juicing their maps, and dont understand rares are where the vast majority of the loot comes from.

Also a bit off topic but I wish people would bring up how badly Azmeri spirits are implemented, They are so slow, and they take so long to possess the rare, And coupled with the new update we cant see the rares on the map.

If you are running an even mediocre build you are almost offscreening the rares anyway, so not being able to see it coming on my build its like a serious nerf to my clear speed and survivability cause if i get a good spirit I have to carefully plod along trying not to offscreen the rare before the spirit goes in, Additionally on my bloodmage if I am not attacking, I am a sitting duck and will almost surely die soon after.

This change has effectively made Azmeri spirits terrible for anyone with a semi decent build, at the very least it has significantly slowed the completion of maps. I could go on for ages about how clear it is that no dev seems to have actually tested Azmeri spirits to a sufficient level. Unless they want extremely slow gameplay when you are sitting there waiting for things to happen, or running up to a rare, and running away to let it get absorbed and running back and killing it. I mean if that's intended, I'm not sure what to say.
Yellow skull icon for rares is not gone, it is just disabled for normal maps. Maps like hideout and Megaliths still show them. This means GGG are just trying to waste people's time and making them look throught the whole map to kill rares as they know that's where the drop comes from with juiced maps... but knowing GGG, now their attention and focus is on, wait for it, you guessed it - COSMETICS...

Hate the change that you can't see rares on the map anymore. Why not??? If I want to rush boss i do so. Can't focus on rares, nothing else that indicates it's a rare. Was perfect with them smal icons before. Now you forcing me to rush the boss and mapping don't feel as good.


I hate the change too.

Not to mention, not all boss's drop a waystone, so we are expected to go hunting for all these rares to get a guaranteed waystone drop if we want to sustain waystones..

Waystones went from 3ex to 15ex in a couple days...

Personally prefer to not see rares on minimap, for those who want it maybe theyll add a unique Item or something to enable it

But Hope they dont tho Just jumping from yellow dot to yellow dot feels stupid and is like playing a cookie clicker.

How about they put an option in settings for those that don't juice maps to disable the icon for rares? that way you can focus on a straight line or stick to the edges of the map to get to the map boss...

I think its good to not be able to see them, but I think they maybe should show up when you are near them like breaches and stuff and then stay visible.

I have been loudly complaining about azmeri spirits' MANY problems, including this one, since their release. I am very disappointed it hasn't even been addressed yet. This patch DESTROYED wisp farming now that you are locked to 0-1 wisps per map even with a fully wisp specced atlas tree, unless you add more with the tablet prefix which is mutually exclusive with rarity / quant / rare monsters / etc.

Wisps truly need so much love, I would not care that the mechanic was trash if there weren't an exclusive unique drop gated behind it, but since I want that for my collection in ssf I pretty much have to engage with this awful mechanic and I pray it gets a major overhaul at some point soon.
The worst thing about this change is how it was omitted from the patch notes. GGG knows very well they were making a disservice to people, so they didn't say a word about it... and that's just immoral. Patch notes should be all-inclusive, the good, the bad and the ugly should be in the patch notes. It looks like now GGG treats patch notes as another form of advertising.
