my point wasn't that its exclusive to deadeye, high clear speed can be achieved with warrior etc but clearly meta(deadeye this league) is king here- so the fastest class can bypass these 'slows' completely with 0 investment

you just cementing my point here. if this is so easy to bypass and only slow builds suffer the brunt of it, getting a slow on 'insanely slow' build? i mean is this mechanic to gate keep end-game content? rather odd imo

Replace “slow build” with “incorrect” or “not invested” or “project test thing I am trying and won’t expect much”

Again, the “what if” post you have going doesn’t really hold much weight, or have a strong enough argument. I’d love to see a single build that doesn’t just have perma silver charm up from passive mapping without going afk for several minutes

“Slower builds” at the magnitude you are talking about is so far away from anything reasonable to play that, again, isn’t the games fault at that point. It’s whomever is doing that to themselves.

Making a bunch of mistakes/trying something out that has no damage =/= “slow build”

Again get a silver charm get duration succeed

a player can have a fast build but play slow. i often stop, walk around the map to either loot/id or even look at something interesting. if i wont kill mobs but trigger slows i'm out of charges. but i wont argue against the 'you're playing the game wrong' take since there is a lot of such vibes coming form the devs themselves.

I just think making already slow players even slower till they reach a certain threshold of clear speed is very odd design choice if intentional
Guys, no one here is saying there shouldn't be any slowdowns. If there's going to be a mod in this game that slows down the player, it should be expressed in a single word.

For example, the “chill effect” slows down the player. The player then thinks about how to be less affected by this effect and spends nodes accordingly. Just when they think it's sorted, they encounter another slowdown. What's that? “Temporal Chains” appear. This time, they spend nodes to counter it and think it's finally resolved.

Then what happens? Another slowdown. “Hinder.” Naturally, the player gets angry and frustrated. They spend their nodes one last time to overcome this. Just when everything seems to be resolved:

What's this? “Maim.”

Enough! No one continues any further. Pick one and use it everywhere; we're done with this. But thousands of slowdown effects under different names are literally turning the game into something unenjoyable.
