The real problem of XP LOSS.

It is clear by your comment that the problem is how unfair deaths can be in this game, not xp-loss in itself. I doubt if we would have this number of complains about xp-loss if there wasn't such unfair situations randomly on maps.

I mean, I don't care how GGG handle death penalty on softcore, but it is clear that XP-loss isn't the root of the problem. Removing it would be at best just a band-aid fix.

Losing earned progress is the root of my issue with the game. I can accept the game having poorly telegraphed one-hit kills. But nice try with the textbook gaslighting.

A lot of people complaining about xp loss lately and even more after patch 0.2.0 released. But the real problem is not the lost hours and effort by dying from one shot boss killings or killings by unfortunate and not noticeable ground effects.

What is difficult from Devs and most pro-players to understand is that for a common player reaching 100 level it is essential to complete the full points of passives that will boost significantly the already damaged build they play. So it's not a lost effort for reaching max level cap but instead a lost effort to strengthen their stats (gear, damage, etc).

I don't know if future ACTs bring more passive points but one is for sure, they can't all players be profi-players just by learning game mechanisms (gid gud) and this wouldn't bring more than 10% overall difference in their play that occupies 70-80% of Poe2 players.

In conclusion it would be essential to see more videos from Devs of how can someone increase survibility during a fight, correct gear combinations, builds and staff that make newbies and common players feel generally more powerful to a demanding play.

I recommend also all players stop hating each other for what others be or want or what they can't be as always will be a scaling about how good can someone be or become in future.
Focus on helping people that not understand the game mechanisms, make some item gifts to them by lowering a bit the trade prices, in practice help them leveling.

After all we all be part of this community and somewhere in the game we will meet for teaming.

lol ive never had a lvl 100 character in 10 years

done all content in poe1

not really sure why people think they need to be able to do everything and have the gam eend or something
Heres a fact but will never happen.

From a dev cycles perspective addressing XP or coming up with a compromise is far easier than fixing all the things listed as cheeseball mechanics in this thread.

Instead more likely to end up having more cheese added.

I patronized this devil guy before. He's a lvl97 HC SSF, which is very respectable. You don't get there by dying / losing even 0.00001% xp

and you don't lose earned progress if you don't die. You stop dying once you spend energy figuring out what kills you in the first place.

anyway, xp loss or no xp loss, 0.2 is really boring.
`Spent 2 mirrors on my build, but I'm only Level 98.` LOL
`From just quick sweep of your characters, toxic rain, golems .. sure, non meta... sure.` LOL
`What are divs?`

Some weird things seems acceptable to you, I see. But who am I to judge? LOL

If I wanted to experience the mentality that I should never die, I would have opted to play hardcore mode.

It's called - my feedback about my experience with the game. Thanks.
The dude who cries the most:
What makes you think that:
1) Reaching level 100 is necessary to successfully play this game and not die often.
2 It should be easy to reach level 100
3 Any player should reach level 100 (even if they have a crappy build and they still haven't figured out what to do in the game, despite the fact that they've been playing it since 2014?)

Here's the part I cannot understand, why do none of you ever ask "can you show me how to minimize deaths?" "what do i need to do to improve?"... and if you are too proud to ask for that...

why not just say "this game is unfair to melee / this game is unfair to non-ls player(not sure if true)" or "remove ondeath effects" or fix stunlocking.

Once again, my issue is that the cost of dying in the 31st map is to lose the earned progress from the 30 maps you already beat before it. That you will not engage with this tells me you are incapable of understanding or you are just choosing to antagonize for your own personal enjoyment.
