The real problem of XP LOSS.

Exp loss is just some outdated leftover mechanic from over 2 decades ago that should be forgotten forever lmao

Hard disagree on that one personally.

It's not about being Punish from dying, it's about having a consequence from dying.

Death should always have an impact, otherwise it's kind of stupid.
Is that even a "game" if you can't lose anymore?

In PoE, unless you die from a server lag or disconnect, it's usually the player's fault, or the lack of knowledge.
In both case, each death should be a lesson, and you should rapidly reduce your deaths by learning from those mistakes, to become better.
Litteraly like IRL when you learn a new job or sport, you make mistakes, then you dont.

If there are people that die 40 times from the same thing, that's absolutly on them.

But this thread isn't about the difficulty of the game, or balance, or dying in the game. It's about what happens when you die that's the problem.

What people are saying is that losing exp on death is not fun. That's all. Like losing X amount of hours when you die at a high level is soul-crushing lol, that kind of experience should never ever exist on Softcore. Dying already loses you a portal, there's already lots of things you lose. No need for exp loss to exist.

Unfortunetly you will just never get it. And its futile to try and explain it to you any longer.

Your free to give feedback but its kinda pointless the way your doing it.

Your supposed to give constructive feedback that can actually positively impact the game. Not just pointlessly whine about everything with no valid arguments or possible solutions and just denying everything people try to tell you.

They even put the omen in the game specificly for people like you.
And yet you still somehow manage to spend your entire existence complaining about a 2.5% exp loss like its the end of the world. When the game is in 0.2.0 and is missing basicly everything from endgame content to a crafting system. How clueless is it possible to get.

Hardcore already exists for anyone that enjoys high risk gameplay. Softcore is not a mode where archaic outdated mechanics like exp loss on death should exist, ever.

It cant be an "archaic outdated mechanic" if its still used in pretty much all of popular rpg games that are created.

You cant just make up your own facts and expect us not to laugh.

No, games should be fun. And there are already like 50 other things you lose from dying on top of it feeling bad anyway. Especially in PoE 2 they for some reason decided to just delete all your juiced content and towers that you spent time and effort earning. Like no, its my map with my loot, my mechanics that I spent hours upon hours farming. Its also my exp that I earned from killing monsters, the exp bar should never move backwards. A game has no right to take the player's progress away. That's completely ridiculous and doesn't respect the player's time.

Do you know what all this leads to? An unfun game where people quit because all it does is punish punish punish. Softcore should have 0 death penalties, anyone who wants them should just go play HC or enable some sliders or checkmarks in the settings menu and call it a day. It's a really simple solution, and everybody would be happy too.

Come on, this game is not that hard. A couple of things might still need some adjusts but this game is far easier than poe1 (at least poe from 3 years ago when I still played that).

The main problem for casuals, IMHO is that many people are already figuring out the game, so there are little fan-madecontent and good published builds out there. Thus, casuals just have problems to build a good char in the style they like.

Unless they increase difficult again, with due time, it will be just a joke seeing someone complaining about frequent deaths on maps in this game.

Obviously it is about difficult. You just die enough times on maps to be worth complaining on forum because staying alive might be too difficult for you. If it was easy enough for you in a way that you would never die, you wouldn’t be complaining here.

Anyway, the game currently is not really hard. People just need time to figure it out yet.
i actually think feeling pain irl is an outdated archaic mechanic. just waiting to see what heaven is like (dw im not religious)
`Spent 2 mirrors on my build, but I'm only Level 98.` LOL
`From just quick sweep of your characters, toxic rain, golems .. sure, non meta... sure.` LOL

Nice try, but you won't misdirect the subject or shift the blame onto some other factors.

The problem is not "difficulty", nor is it dying itself. Its how the game is needlessly punishing, when it shouldn't be like that in Softcore mode. Its really that simple. People don't need to be kicked by the game when they fall down, everyone already wants to get better gear. That's the whole point of an aprg? The power fantasy? Its the point of any rpg. The feeling of progression. The game doesn't need to motivate that at all. That's why people play it in the first place lol

Stop trying to blame the players for bad game design. Exp loss is just soooo outdated and bad.
the problem is you have a preconceived misconception of the meaning of fun.

That's crazy. That's a dead end here.
