The game is good, that's a fact.

The game has no significant competition is another fact.

Both can coexist, occur simultaneously.

Yes, the game has a certain player retention, it can happen because the game is good and it can also happen because the player doesn't have option B.

I agree with that.

While we don't have a deeper insight of WHY ppl come back to PoE it's safe to say that GGG has and GGG already talked about it.

The saying "If you make it to maps - then GGG owns your soul" is there for a reason.

They tested over years what's the best way to "Patch" for their game, why ppl leave and why ppl come back etc.
So just stating things without any basis, besides assumptions, does not really work for PoE.

Monks/Mages get pissed because their builds right now get gutted instead nerfed with a new economy (league)

Irrelevant. If a genuine balance issue is present, always address it ASAP.

and it's not like 100k Warrior are sitting in a waiting room for buffs so they got a reason to play the game.

The only reason players aren't expecting buffs in the waiting room is because so many of GGG's sycophants repeat the useless mantra that balance shouldn't happen 'mid-league'

You not understanding the "mantra" doesn't make it useless.

While I personally don't care how GGG is balancing the Early Access, it's never as simple as jUsT bAlAnCe ThInGs.
You hinge your entire position on an easily ignorable platitude. If you love how POE1 played so much, go play it.

I bet my life that stagnate your game with monk/quarterstaff in current state is far from being the best option for the game.

If GGG let a class have 8.000.000 dps at start of the first POE2 league and don't touch it until the next league i'll quit this league less than a week.

Nobody claimed that the situation with Monk or any "OP" stuff is the best option to be in. Hell, GGG themselves would have dropped the nerf hammer already IF there weren't no reason to not to do it until the next economy reset.

I mean, there will always be something to do 8M DPS or even more early on, but why would you quit a league because of it!?

And your entire "position" can be boiled down to what you wrote there. Peak.

There is no reason.

Better question: why would you say don't adjust it?

"ThErE iS nO rEaSoN."

And you call ppl out for a "mantra"?

Reasons:
1. Any bigger balance changes can affect the economy and can screw over many ppl depending on who is hit by the nerf.
For example, your 100div items/build you farmed an entire week for could become useless/worthless, so you not only lose value on your stuff, and you are less likely to "fix" your build with something else when your items aren't worth selling anymore to get something new.

2. You can soft/hard lock ppl when the changes made affect their progress.

3. Bundling up changes and deploying them with an economy reset (new league) is extensively tested and well received while only "game-breaking bugs" get solved for an obvious reason.

4. It can be more chaotic to change things here and there in small periods instead of taking some time - thinking/developing a probably good solution and THEN releasing it - instead of fiddling around.

There are actual reasons for it. If you are interested in WHY they do things and how they do things, there are interviews about it.

And to your second part: No, not "better question", answer my question first. You don't answer a question with a question IF the question is not a rhetorical one.

It's a lot easier to simply say that you dont' have faith in GGG's competence, which is ironic since you have been glazing them for over a decade.
