End of an era at GGG; Tencent is calling the shots and gameplay is now secondary to $

Oh 100% right. Never claimed any credibility. But the OP did. If someone else brings their creds to the table, and proceeds with a post like that one.....I'm gonna question them.

He has every right to question mine, provided he does so with an actual point behind it.....which there wasn't one.

Doubt and question me to the moon and back. It's the POST that matters, we are all faceless beings in these forums.

Private, public, 100 banners, 0 banners: meaningless for a discussion. That's the entire point behind that particular shout out. A garbage post is a garbage post whether its done by a 20k hour veteran with $10k worth of mtx.....or a noob from last week. But the noob likely won't be calling anyone else's credibility or purchases into question, opening the floodgates.

The oldest supporter pack you have on display is Sentinel, which landed in 2022. Tencent got their majority share in 2018. You've -never- bought a supporter pack that wasn't held by Tencent. Near as I can tell, you've never -played- the game save for while it existed under Tencent's publisher banner.

I'm not saying you don't have points, but this context is important, that Tencent may be responsible for the game you feel in love with.

The important thing with devs is, are the people who built PoE1 still working there. And that's a harder question to answer. We know some of the high ranking people departed, and some are still there. But the reason why D3 feels so different than D2, is that no one from D2 still worked for Blizzard. The only person I recall shared between is Metzen, and he only did the writing for LoD, not D2 proper (And he was a VERY different person during the production of the two games). I'd be curious to see the employ overlap over the leagues since PoE1's release, and who's on PoE2's staff.

This forum is exhausting to read mainly of because disappointed edge lords who are transparently making up any unflattering story they can think up to try and passive aggressively "dare GGG to prove them wrong". Its just so goofy and on the nose.

Seriously GGG would put loot loot crates and P2W in tomorrow if Tencent wanted to do the story villain mustache twirling thing people are wanting to portray. How do you not know this? Like I don't love giant mega corps (in fact I'm pretty viscerally anti corpo) but as those go they seem fine for the last 5 or 6 years.

its astonishing that perhaps the least aggressively monetized major live service game around (one of the least anyway) gets posts like this. I can only assume the OP has very little experience with this sort of thing.

I think I need to take a break from the forums. I'm one of the most critical posters here but lately I am a "white knight" due to the sheer lack of perspective and reason floating around.

I wonder if this is mostly angry Diablo 4 players who got bored on day 2 and are just looking to vent in the forums of a game that actually has a shot to be great?

Relax guys... there will be lots of POE to play in the future its just time to play something else for a few weeks. It'll be okay. Holy shit.
